we threw around the idea of inserting nes golf into ysp, then coding a bowser fight inside nes golf where you had to pelt him with golf balls.

Kinda disappointed there wasn't a bit where you go to get a feather and it kills you because feathers come from animals. But also the title doesn't fit in general so it's ok

I thought about this too but I don't think most animal rights activists would care about what you did with a feather found on the ground. It's just gonna decompose otherwise.

I think the bigger issue is that fire flowers have eyes, so it makes you wonder if they're sentient?

music list:

toilet 1st half: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcZyjvsKqHI
toilet 2nd half: a horrible port of corridors of time
supermarket: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57LZmyAnP6M This song has special meaning to me. I would often listen to this with my friends while doing homework, humming along with the entire playlist. Some of the later songs are oddly sad.
vegan 1st half: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWUcyVF_6IE
vegan 2nd half: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1CveYZh1OM

The supermarket level is one of my favorites. It's just adorable and hilarious, along with some well thought-out setups.
I had lots of trouble with the secret exit and cape section of the vegan level; I had to use a savestate to practice them. raocow played exceptionally well, I think

mario makes a post on the talkhaus

i'm really appreciating the idea that the 999 soundtrack is a natural distillation of the experience of being vegan

whatever the next level is, it's already incredible.

I do like Mario Becomes a Vegan, but I think it goes on just a little too long. Like, the fire mario and cape mario segments could've been shortened by a little bit, and it would've been fantastic

Somehow completely didn't recognize the 999 soundtrack whatsoever

presumably, that they probably set a deadline and said like "hey no more levels after x date so we can actually release this thing"

I have discovered the grocery store music is officially titled At the Mall by Plus Crier and it's available for streaming services along with the other songs from the album it's on

The origin of the Sounds for the Supermarket track 1 is apparently a bit of a mystery. The original song is actually called "Mr. Lucky" by Karl Jenkins and Take Six, album called SUNNY JIM, released by De Wolfe Music in 1980 (not 1975). https://www.dewolfemusic.com/search.php ... d=18584718

Strangely enough, this song was apparently released in 1980, but the youtube video says 1975. Even stranger, the original video uploaded by Jer Jae (that had like a million views or something) was taken down (which is odd considering the fact that all the other songs in the collection are still there). It was since reuploaded, but it's also been recently reuploaded by Plus Crier. After digging into it, it seems that most people aren't sure what's going on here, and no one knows who Plus Crier actually is. But curiously, it looks like these videos were uploaded by Plus Crier's Topic around the same time that the original video by Jer Jae was taken down.

Another strange thing: the Wikipedia article for the Sounds for the Supermarket album states this: "Sounds For The Supermarket is an album distributed by Minnesota-based communications company Muzak to supermarket vendors in the United States and Canada in 1975". It lists the label as Muzak, but the producer as Karl Jenkins. But the release date is 1975, which is earlier than the supposed release of the original song. Weird.

Also fun fact, this song was in a Nintendo customer service ad in 1991, for some reason.

I think we can all agree that YUMP2 has some REALLY deep music cuts

I also saw it labeled as Mr Lucky in my search but it wasn't available on streaming services under that name and I thought it might have been some release for a children's album or something. I wonder if the Plus Crier name was just made up for some new rights holder who got ahold of it when it started getting traction

I don't usually stick around for your SMW hack videos but this is another great one.

Depending on what path raocow takes, we might be seeing another deep cut tomorrow!

Either way, I'm expecting a one level video. I'm calling it now, Yump 2 will finish somewhere between 75 and 80 videos.

Hell yeah, right in two accounts, can we make it 3?

Both Sonic and Mario today were very demanding of raocow's reaction time. I expect the next crossover level soon with a level that turns yump into a rhythm game or something similar.

This is a level I definitely don't have the patience to do completely savestateless. I had a ton of trouble with that part where you had to grab the shell with Yoshi, spit it out so it hits that block with the mushroom in it. Among other things of course, I struggled a lot with this level. I do wonder if I'll be able to finish this hack. The music was fitting though lol

I think this level taught me the golden rule of YUMP2: Everything is there for a reason in these harder levels. You might not know why something's there, but you'll have to use it in some way to succeed. That floating water is a prime example, since its purpose is to reset your spinjump state before the final jump.

Who did the SMW-style remix of at the airport terminal? It made me laugh so hard when it started playing and is unironically amazing.
