YUMP2 - Marginal Consciousness

this is the place where lps are being talked about. it's important to talk about games being played on the internet.

It kind of amuses me how that thing has apparently become my legacy; it must have been over ten years since I coded the thing, and it still keeps popping up every now and again, like in that one room in the final VIP6 video. Still, it feels kind of nice to know that people are still getting use out of your work.
I kid you not a few hours after I posted this, someone on the smwcentral discord posted sprites they'd made for a Thwomp Boss replacement (a monty mole "piloting" a hollowed-out thwomp shell). This is your legacy.

Speaking as someone who's done most of the levels, you know what I'm most excited about? Hopefully getting a full list of the ost in this game, because some of these songs are incredible.

I'm not normally a fan of levels/hacks that just throw aesthetic away for weird gimmicks and stuff, but I really enjoyed watching YUMP, and this looks like it's gonna be quite a treat, too. Seems like this hack was just made for raocow! Very excited!!

Finally actually got to watch the video and I could sing Rolling Start all day every day

Definitely not regretting my decision to completely ignore the zVIP6 finale

yump2 is really good, and i wish i actually finished my two levels for it as i promised. oh well - there's always yump3.

gonna watch the lp because the hack got way too hard like 6 levels in and at my supple age, i can't be bothered with savescumming. expecting a fun time all the same.

Too many Charlies, whispering voices
faces on mushrooms, too many choices

it took me a shamefully long time to realize what that song actually was

bang gang was very much a "Brutalist" level in that its graphical usage kind of made it a rather flat stage in terms of platforming, however it still retained elements of action to spice it up as best as possible, so props to the author.

Masochist is just, perplexing. I couldn't beat this stage if I tried so I'm gonna just follow the LP for now and just use raocow as my guide when I get to actually playing the game. Throwback to when I first played the VIPs I suppose. Excellent job to the author as well.

Keep it up.

Not the full list, although a good portion of songs are here: https://www.smwcentral.net/?p=viewthread&t=102669
(There is a full list, but I cannot find it right now)

I was really impressed by raocow's ability to solve the 3rd exit. It was quite logical-- staring at the end screen, he deduced that the switch must be in the original state, and that Mario should be normal big. Then he figured out how to get big really quick. That took me a lot longer to figure out

It took me three different streaming sessions to realize how to get the 3rd exit on Masochist Crossroads, and you got it in like 3 minutes lmao

Yeah, I think I got the first two a little faster but I could not solve the third for a loooooooong time and had to come back to it ^^;

it was like, "how the heck do I get normal big, the ? block contains another cape" and I just didn't think outside the box at all

that was impressive.

Here's a couple dedicated spc players: https://www.zophar.net/utilities/spc.html
I personally use SNESamp because it works well with how I use winamp for all sound files.
I do things. You can find them on my talkhaus site. https://enjl.talkhaus.com/
Here is another link. This one lets you draw.
