Re: Wandersong - Ad libitum
So it turns out the ghost's message to "end the war" wasn't anything to do with the origin of the monsters, or that Chaandesh is also plagued by the same monsters, or anything at all useful to clearing up any of the misunderstandings that led to the war, but just insulting Rulle's king and asking him to please stop starting wars. Which is so obviously counterproductive that it almost makes me wonder if she's actually a vengeful spirit trying escalate the war and sabotage the peace movement.
Maybe it's just part of the growing pains of not being used to being dead. I guess we'll see what happens when she interacts with the Queen of Chaandesh.

Re: Wandersong - Con affetto
Yeah, I feel this is a very common choice for "favorite scene in the game". It's mine too. I'm trying to convey some of the reasons and my paragraph keeps getting longer so instead I'll delete that and just say it means a lot to me. It's very heartfelt and exemplifies a lot of the themes of the game and the characters' arcs.
Re: Wandersong - Rubato
The overseer song being split into two parts that have to be played simultaneously could imply that the hero is not supposed to be a vocalist (or piccoloist), but be proficient in an instrument that can play multiple notes at once and is portable enough to carry around to all the nexus points. Maybe that's why accordion is so prominent in this universe; it's actually the divine instrument of Eya.
Re: Wandersong - Rubato
A song for our little bee-fairy friend:
Audrey is an interesting subversion of the hero archetype in that this story requires the hero to go around doing badass stuff just to bring about the end of the world. The fact that she is so callous and narcissistic and seemingly lacking in empathy even when she helps people are pretty much the perfect traits for the hero of Eya, and it wouldn't surprise me if she were selected specifically for those traits rather than any ability she has.
Like Rainbow's job could be to go around and find the one person on earth who would be most down with killing demigods and being worshiped by people who don't know she is dooming them to non-existance while never having second thoughts about the consequences of what she is doing, and then Eya gives her the power to do it. Whereas Sama and Miriam have more traditional heroic traits, but that is precisely what makes them unsuited to be selected as the hero. I also think Rainbow is probably drawn to Sama out of her own personal hopes and preferences for a hero who actually wants to save the world despite that not being her job.

RIP Act 5, Episode 17 - Episode 28
you had a good run

Re: Wandersong - Rubato
Wow, I didn't realize how long Act 5 had been going on for! I guess it makes sense, since it's kind of like two acts in one.
Also, I think there was supposed to be music playing during the title card for Act 6, since it's in the soundtrack like all the other title card jingles:
Although the eerie silence was also fitting in its own way...

Re: Wandersong - Rubato
i'll also add that the remaining length of the game is less than the length of act 5 by itself, so i'd expect maybe in the range of 7-9 more episodes depending on how long rao goes in each

Re: Wandersong - Rubato
with the description of act 5 as "like two acts in one", i was REALLY hoping the game would have an absurdly long act 6 broken up in distinct segments to complete the homestuck joke

Re: Wandersong - Rubato
Hmm, looks like this game has a few bugs in it.
Re: Wandersong - Rubato
I'm still not sure i trust Audrey over Rainbow, but Rainbow acting this way makes sense when you consider she isn't human, and we don't really know how much of human emotion and psychology she understands. It could just be that over countless aeons she discovered that telling people what they want to hear is the most effective way to get along with them, and that being completely open and honest about what is going on caused people despair. It is manipulative but Rainbow might not be able to grasp how humans would process that. All she sees is that things turn out better when she acts this way. And when she's been confronted in the story so far about telling Sama and Audrey different things, her response hasn't been to try to hide anything or deflect from it, but rather to seem confused about why they are upset.
Rainbow is probably the hardest character in the story to understand, which i think works really well given her nature.

Now, for some reason, i imagine Eyala as Demo with magically dyed hair and her eye civered... but she has arms so... I might try to do a little art of Demo just loking like Eyala

Re: Wandersong - Rubato
It makes sense that Andrey keeps running ahead and waiting. She's the hero doing one of those escort mission where the escorted character moves slower than your running speed but faster than your walking speed, so that you have to constantly stop and wait for them to catch up.
Re: Wandersong - Rubato
I managed to softlock the game at 5:55 in today's video. If you raise the rock up on the far left and not in the middle, Audrey will run right into it and get stuck, thus never jumping.
I loved this game a lot, but man, there were unfortunately quite a few little glitches and softlocks like this throughout.

Re: Wandersong - Divisi
Just updated the video list, sorry for the lack of thread updates the past few days, my grandma's been hospitalized and I've been really anxious. ><
On a lighter note, now after yesterday's video I'm able to share this art I love based on Eyala's description of her and Audrey's conversation:

Hmmmmmm... So I was cassually watching today´s episode and you know, the world is ending and the ground is shaking... guess what! Right on one of the constant earthquakes in the game, an actual earthquake happened here at least in Costa Rica, Not sure if other coundries of central America... It literally took me several seconds to realize because i already was watching the world move in the LP episode... Videogames...
Uhh! That's right, I exist.

I'd rather you air the finale as one big video then skip a day, than split it. Either way works though!
