Re: Wandersong - Sforzando
Man, so I was curious how many levels there were to earn by working in the factory, and what their names were. But all I could find on google was this discussion where someone said they'd go find out years ago and never reported back.
Guess the world isn't ready to know...

Re: Wandersong - Sforzando
Duker in the youtube comments posted a video of grinding levels in the factory (mostly fast-forwarded) that's pretty entertaining, and pretty much answers the question:

Re: Wandersong - Sforzando
Wow, so just endless level count with looping titles then.
It's funny, like, it fits the idea of a monotonous boring task with HR staring over your shoulder at all times, occaisionally reading lines off a page like "you did good today, keep at it," it really fits the unpleasant grind of factory floor work that it's trying to portray.
... I noticed it also doesn't mention anything about pay, like, let's be real, this is actual slave labor. I get the idea it's more to be literally as unrewarding to the player as possible though.

No-one has mentioned that our bard literally looks like an elf, as in the Santa's Workshop kind.

raocow did actually, right after meeting 'the baron' he says something like "are you a Christmas Elf, Sama?"BobisOnlyBob wrote: ↑3 years ago No-one has mentioned that our bard literally looks like an elf, as in the Santa's Workshop kind.
Re: Wandersong - D.S. al coda
The bard literally being Santa jr would explain why he's so jolly all the time.
Re: Wandersong - D.S. al coda
Putting the Father into Father Chismest, Sama Claus!
So, interesting note is that before coca-cola became this big thing and made Santa dressing in red popular, he dressed in green in his depictions...
Hmmm...
Sama, the green clad bard dude,
has a very green bard suit.
And if you ever saw it,
you'd say that it's a green bard suit.

Re: Wandersong - D.S. al coda
Assuming rao's theory re:baron=bard dad is right I think the explanation rather than being that he recognises his son and yields, I think it's more simply that Bard inherited his simple nature from his dad, and so a simple talk was all that was needed.
fart.
Re: Wandersong - D.S. al coda
The theory is correct, from what I've heard. Baron IS Sama's dad.

Re: Wandersong - D.S. al coda
Sama should be relatively safe around those saws, he has a spin jump.

"Remember, she's just following the rules. The same rules that say she's the hero."
I feel like that's one of this game's core ideas summed up right there.

Oh man, that'd be a great easter egg (but probably break something) if you could bounce off the saws with the pirouette dance.
Re: Wandersong - Tacet
I was half-expecting the Baron to be the Overseer since his introduction strongly parallels the general theme for the Overseers (used to be kind but has become increasingly corrupted and is now ruining his town). Vlad would have made a cool fairy too. It would have also been interesting if Sama were the son of an Overseer and that were the reason he seemingly breaks the in-universe concept of human destiny.
It does seem like the parallel is intentional, and the Baron's misguided factory could be a byproduct of him being affected by the leaking corruption of the Order Queen. Which i guess would make some good propaganda for Audrey if the problem is so bad it is even corrupting Santa.

Re: Wandersong - Tacet
The thing is that the Order Queen seemed pretty much intact?
Yeah, the path to the castle was messy, but the woman herself seemed perfectly safe, and her fairy seemed to be satisfied with her.

I like this game a lot. So many of these characters have their own implied history that makes them see the world differently.

Re: Wandersong - Canon
started this game a couple of days ago and it's so, so charming. i'm a bit behind the lp (just getting to the two kingdoms act), but the twists with the "hero", among other things, have been a delight. the character contrast between the bard as an optimist and miriam as a pessimist has been kind of engrossing. can't wait to see where the story goes.
Re: Wandersong - Canon
You know SNN, you're onto something. That's probably why the character dynamic feels natural rather than forced. Their conversations aren't a forced dialogue of one person saying something and the other just nodding along and confirming it, there's actual discussion and debate between them. It's fun. I like it.
