I actually just played this game for the first time earlier this week, since I had it in my Steam library and I'd been meaning to, and I knew raocow's playthrough was soon. I expected to get a little bit ahead of him and keep going during the LP but then I got addicted and beat the whole game in two days, so. Needless to say I adored it.

I'll probably add to this first post with more game-relevant info beyond a personal anecdote later. ^^;

Uh, depends on how long each video is. Steam says my playtime was 11 hours but I also went back and replayed some of my favorite sections after the game so. *shrug*

If you mean the inconsistent punctuation and so on it's definitely a deliberate style decision for character voices, with more formal speakers following all the rules and more casual ones often dropping punctuation and capitalization and the like. Different characters use different fonts, too, with the most formal being very standard serif fonts and so on.

Well this clearly isn't my type of game, but it's definitely got that raocow feel to it. It should make for a fun LP. I'm curious to see what the game is like once you get out of intro town.

this is about a 10 hour game normally, iirc, i'd expect a good 25-30ish episodes? if they're all today's video-sized it would be a lot more than that though ;p

It's great to see raocow playing this, I've always really loved the look and style of this game but I know I'd hate playing it myself since I really hate simon says stuff in games.

this is definitely a very pleasant game that i never played myself yet am happy to see raocow play, but now that i hear it won over ghost trick (GOAT) it feels so much more bittersweet. it following immediately after katamari (whose sequel is ofc second GOAT) would've left me individually elated. no matter, every dog has its day!!!

Hey now, I'm not going to suggest Ghost Trick (I always thought it was too clever for its own good). But then I'm not showing my hand...yet ;)

Do you have it set for the D-pad to also sing? That's the option by default and it helped me from time to time to switch between that and the right stick when switching between cardinals and diagonals.

aahh this game is adorables⚊🎔 during the iconoclast series〜rao sorta randomly mashed on the switch weapons button as a solution to new stuffs 𝅘𝅥𝅮 ⁎˚₊the rapid sing song note switching feels a bit like it 𝅘𝅥𝅮₊˚⁎ ^‿^ i always like those fidget thinking actions peeps will sometimes do in games♡♡

So we are on Earth.

This is actually a curious thing about games...to what degree is "Earth" meant to refer specifically to our planet, and what degree does it simply mean "the planet where the work takes place", and to what degree does this matter if the world is defined as ours yet sufficiently different from the one we recognize that it might as well be a different planet?

A similar example sticks out in my mind with the game Tower of Heaven. The world of this game outside of the Tower is rather deliberately vaguely sketched, but your silent protagonist character, though humanoid, does not appear to be particularly human. Which is just fine and dandy, until the end of the game, where reference is suddenly made to "humanity", which I have to admit made me do a bit of a double take. Now, I suppose "humanity" here was simply meant to mean "the intelligent species of the world is which the game takes places, analogous to our own world's humans", and that the alternative here would be introducing a new name for the protagonist's otherwise unseen species, but it still does feel a bit odd to use a term like "humanity" that broadly. "Earth" is perhaps not quite that extreme, particularly with its associate with ground and the like, but I feel like it's a similar situation.
