Having actually finally watched today's video, I can safely say that I don't need to hear the first 15 seconds of Extend Ash ever again.

Re: VIP6 - Japanese airspace (the upper stratosphere)
The dc path in imperishable night is pretty much representative of modern kaizo style (albeit made several years before this was common); if you are experienced in playing such levels, this one should take around 10 minutes, if you make a save state at the beginning (and that might be a conservative estimate, as I know many players are more skilful than I). I'm rather worried about YUMP 2 again, since it has many such levels; the advantage it will have (or the disadvantage) is that it generally forces you to play the way you're supposed to; I'm not sure taking a cape into this dc path (and you don't get one in the mipoint area, at least in the version I played) helped at all, although I didn't try it with one as it was manageable enough small.
About the difficulty ratings of VIP levels. I'm not sure switch blocks are accounted for at all, for one thing. It's often not properly sensible to rate levels on the same scale; Imperishable Night is clearly far more difficult if you are not used to playing such levels (and when it was made, the difficulty would be strictly outrageous, since no one was used to it), while TSC is going to seem unsurmountably difficult if you're not used to playing long stretches of several minutes without a checkpoint.

Re: VIP6 - .jp
Despite the long video today, I didn't expect what the only source of angrycow really was in that video.
That said, was "???" clear on how many doors you have to complete to progress?

Re: VIP6 - .jp
With her stage music having been stolen by Kaguya, Mokou was forced to find a new track. However, she needed help, and turned to the internet for guidance. Ever the nefarious trickster, the internet directed her to the memes from the early 2010s. There, she spotted a rainbow, and quickly made a connection between the spacefaring feline and the lunar princess. An eye for an eye, she thought...

Re: VIP6 - .jp
Fun fact: I'm pretty sure the R Orb's name in development was the Save Crystal.
So this could have been a covert Final Fantasy VII reference. Grotta Azzurra (the special world) was the Northern Crater all this time
Sephiroth was gonna be the final boss /s
Edit: If you want the names of the worlds, from the Wiki:
World 1 Submap: Resort Plateau
VIP Islands on the bottom right: VIP6 Archipelago
World 3 Submap: Oleander Wetlands
World 4 Cave: Dual Cavern
World 4 Outside: Three-piece Plateau
Snowtop: Clothes Snowfield (Close Snowfield?)
World 6, upper right: Float River, Spring Lake (you can tell which is which)
World 7: Despair Precipice
Special: Grotta Azzurra (this is in the latin alphabet for some reason)

Re: VIP6 - .jp
I'd assume it resets the doors you've cleared already, allowing you to re-enter them, which... seems an odd behaviour, but that's what it looks like?
