I'm not really sure why everyone is so impressed with that secret exit, it's nothing revolutionary, really. People have used layered tile tricks to hide doors and implement vanilla secondary midpoints for years (usually with dragon coins). If anything, I think it's really out of place in this hack which up until now has gone for such a typical Nintendo-style of level design that you wouldn't expect something like that. So far I've imagined the "typical player" of this hack to be a bit above the level of a beginner and doesn't know about weird SMW engine quirks so they would just be confused if they did accidentally stumble upon this.

I don't disagree that it's probably weird for what the intended audience, but for people here, it's just refreshing to see something.

It seems like the game is starting to wake up and show teeth, even if just a little. A good sign.

I was thinking similarly but for the third level. The second half's idea of using lots of the sideways rock platform mixed with horizontal koopas and the upwards scroller was pretty neat, and I could see someone developing the idea further into something a bit more complex.

The solution to the number problem, raocow, is to put the 38 in roman numerals. Super Sig World XXXVIII has another level of prestige.

I appreciate the generous use of switch palace blocks to really make them feel worth your while to get, and also that multiple colors of them are used in levels, making it so that if you found one but missed another, you'll still receive a little help somewhere.

F is for funf. Also, seems like no one in the comments can agree with how to pronounce "Fünf", so from this point on, german is officially not a language. Sorry germans.

It's because there's simply no sound for "ü" in English, so you can't say "it sounds like this other English word". It's simply impossible to explain.

Therefore, German is superior because we have more and better sounds. Sück it!

There's an audio recording on this page, which hopefully belies the issue of a proper written explanation.

I admit I had thought for some reason that it was pronounced like the "oo" in "toot" or "spool" or "loose", but really it sounds like how an American imitating a stereotypical French accent would pronounce "eu".

One of the most common artifacts of an author trying to emulate vanilla Nintendo level design is pretending a small handful of coins is a real reward. That was very weird in the green switch right next to some legitimately difficult platforming 🤷‍♂️

Oh also, I don't know if I just wasn't paying attention or what, but did we ever determine what was up with dragon coins in Special 3?

Nobody's mentioned if there are coins or not in Special 3, so he hasn't gone back.

I couldn't find any there either. I hadn't played that level yet when I sent raocow the most recent patch, sorry for the lack of warning for that one ^^;

Well, English has a ton of sounds, but over time people decided they didn't need all those pesky letters that would help people differentiate between them, so i'm sure there's some word that has something like "ü"- And it's exactly for this reason that English is also not a real language.
