Sounds uncannily like a track or two from Diddy Kong Racing too, but that's just that Wise/Norgate sound at this point.

That was clearly a banana rectangle, not square.

This is why nobody[who?] takes Quebec seriously.

I don't know what Bean's health status is these days but I'm throwing this thread back up into Stickyland just in case.

Also you should have kept the blinding eye-searing palette :(

BW

That wasn't my tagline. Then again, I never played this one, so I'll go with whichever mod edited it. Guess it's time to actually look up what this game's about, huh?

I edited it just to make it clearer that this thread was being used for DKL2. It's no more than a placeholder. Go ahead and change it to whatever idea you had.

I had no idea on the name for this one, and yours works with the theme of the first game, so we'll keep it! Good on you.

Yeah, at surface glance, the levels mostly have the same names as the SNES version and follow the same order of levels from it as well,
so it's easy to think this is just a port, but the levels themselves are still completely different, other than having the same themes.

Also, get used to hearing Lockjaw's Saga, we'll be hearing it a lot in the first two worlds.
Uh...Do I just sign here? What do you mean it should be obvious? There are people in this world...well...a whole lot of people that can't follow basic instructions!

Not gonna lie, I'm pretty bothered by level types playing the "wrong" music as compared to the SNES version

I played this too and was less impressed by it than by DKL1. It's objectively better in most aspects (it looks and plays far nicer, for example), but its focus is very different. As we could already see, the levels are very exploration-based now, are already pretty big in length and width, and due to the limited assets, you can get lost somewhat easily.

Therefore, the flow I loved to much in DKL1 isn't really there. Again, it's just a very different, much more polished but for me personally less interesting beast - I'm sure raocow will have a lot of fun with it, though!

I don't think I finished it, so I'm looking forward to seeing it all. Maybe I will pick it up again too.

The shuri may have hurt you in Enguarde form because Enguarde does not auto-stab at shuri, and if it spins into you while you're not stabbing you get hurt. That's how it's in DKC2 and this game may have adopted that.

Not much to say about this game so far. It's pretty much aping a lot from the level design and aesthetics from the second DKC, and that's asking a lot because of the obvious downgrades that will have to be made thanks to the hardware.
