It's funny how Dreamland 1 was made to be a real easy romp, and then Dreamland 2 is without a doubt the hardest Kirby game, like, the real final boss for that is actually tough for me (doesn't help that the scrolling BG makes me dizzy.)

It's weird how much of this I've never actually seen because I took Spring Breeze for granted as close enough
Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

Yeah, I always thought it was strange Spring Breeze wasn't a full remake. They didn't want to program in Cabela and the Peppermint(?) powerup?

Kabula and the Sweet Potato (Mint Leaf in English).
It makes you burp in the Japanese version, but it gives you minty fresh breath in the Western versions.

other than the contents of this exact video

like it's not impossible for raocow to have been bluffing when he brushed it off so it could still happen but that's still a pretty huge reason

Hehehe, that's pretty funny. I'm surprised raocow didn't go inside the moon, before Krako Jr.

Will Revenge of the King from Kirby Super Star Ultra be next? I'm pretty sure you have to unlock it though, so I don't know if it's as simple as beating Spring Breeze, or a bit more involved than that.

i cannot hear bubbly clouds without thinking of the port in kouhai mario

i just expect the song to go horribly offtune every time

no offense to daigaidai's kouhai (black?) their port of jet stingray is pretty solid for a beginner using smw samples

the title of the video translates to "I Play A Mario Hack Made by My Kouhai, A Self Proclaimed Gamer" just for whenever raocow decides to reLP it in 2022

Well, it could be Revenge of the King from Super Star Ultra. That's basically hard mode for Spring Breeze.

Never realized how big of a role Castle Lololo had in the original, only to be relegated to like 2 rooms in the Super Star version. RIP Mumbies and the knockoff Phantos.

I always assumed it was the castle stage in Dyna Blade and that since you already beat them they weren't there, but turns out that's a different castle

Bumping because this thread is relevant again.

I've had Kirby's Dream Land ever since it first came out, but I was never able to beat the Extra Game as a child. It wasn't until two and a half years ago when rao made his KDL video, that I fired up the game on the original hardware to try and beat the harder mode (in anticipation of him LPing it). Took me about 40 minutes (compared to 20 minutes or so for the regular mode), but it wasn't as tough as I remembered. Let me just say it was a real treat to see all of the enemy graphics replacements that I've never seen before. It felt like opening up a time capsule.

On another note, I keep forgetting that KDL was the first in the Kirby series. I always think that Kirby's Adventure was the first game, if only because it came out on the NES. I find it a bit strange when that happens, where you get a later entry in a video game series coming out on an older system. Kind of a similar situation with Yoshi and Yoshi's Cookie on the NES and Game Boy, which were both released after Yoshi debuted first on the SNES (Super Mario World). Weird.
