So far, the only bosses I've seen that carried over between games is the Attack Carrier and the Rock Smasher. A few more enemies from this game also transitioned to Starfox Zero, but there is still a lot in this game that only made a appearance here.
Not-yet-encountered boss spoiler:
They brought Monarch Dodora from Fortuna back for Zero.

IDK if anyone has pointed this out yet or if I'm just missing something but if the title gimmick was supposed to be an increasing number of edges then 7 got skipped

The strangest thing about this LP is that it's making me realize the original Star Fox is an actual full on videogame. Like, when people talk about it you always just see corneria and it's jumble of polygons, but there's an actual game to it.

o_o
._.

It's less that 7 got skipped and more raocow went from "what can be defined by this many points" to "what's the next step up in complexity" to "polygon with this many edges". So it's as much that 3 got done twice (since both an angle and a triangle can be defined from... three points) as it is that the septagon got skipped

anyway, video embed.

its pretty awesome how like friendly ai scenarios are done— like its something thats in modern games and stuffs but here star fox has these situations were enemies specifically spawn in to chase to chase your allies, and its set to dialogue and whatnot⁛⁚⁙ ⟪all on the snes⟫ like thats crazy cool*☆ i just wish falcon was friendlier (・-・)

Yeah I still don't know how (in the outer-space levels) you're recognizing any object that isn't huge or right up in your face. Or, like, how you're aiming. But I'm regardless impressed with the game, especially the fact that it was on the SNES, and really enjoying this game's vibe.

Using the money obtained from strip mining Titania, the Cornerian government hires mercenaries to destroy the Venomian economy by shooting up shopping malls.

The way you can see a lights below the level (a cityscape?) reminds me of the Sanctuary Fortress/Ing Hive area from Metroid Prime 2.

Is that a cityscape below? Was that a city in the Corneria level? My new head canon is that all these buildings are conveniently empty.

Don't forget the interplanetary sanctions that can be raised now that Venom has been destroyed and needs to pay for the Treaty of Sector Y

It's like the Abandoned Buildings District(tm) that's featured in every Power Rangers(r) episode!

Sgt. Pepper changes rank more often than Kirk according to raocow's commentary

You would think to boost when the first in a series of falling pillars hits you. But raocow prefers to get spanked by each one as they come.

Yeah, I think boosting more would actually help raocow avoid a lot of damage he usually takes. Then again, I have no clue how the game handles nyoro~n

Captain rao's guilt over the annihilation of Venom's strip malls kept him awake at night, so he overslept the day of the final Cornerian assault. It led to a distressful dream where he flew really badly and Falco was a jerk, but since Falco's always a jerk, he thought it was real. Until he died.

Thankfully it was just a demo dream.

Man, Route 3 is brutal to me. Like this game clearly has a legitimate difficulty curve. It's just that I couldn't handle a lot of what this last one throws at you without resorting to save stating, especially when losing a life means going back to the single shots.
