i could talk about how you can fly from the starting platform of windy valley to the ending platform without touching the ground, or i could be stunned into silence at how poorly that chao garden visit went

Re: A Thousand Miles - Adventure (singular) - His Hero
Another illuminating perspective difference here between Sonic and Tails' different versions of the stages.
In Sonic's run, Tails was a non-factor, just someone who was tagging along. In Tails' run, he's in competition with Sonic. From Tails' perspective, he is trying his best to keep up with Sonic and prove himself as an equal - an effort which does not register in the slightest from Sonic's perspective. Sonic is not even aware of the race Tails think he's participating in!

Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

Re: A Thousand Miles - Adventure (singular) - His Hero
It's also a case where Tails only has to go through a part of the stage rather than redo the whole thing. So Sonic's doing his deal while Tails is having these private races that the blue blur doesn't even know about. And of course, he's making the whole story up as he goes like the deal with the Egg Hornet. Good imagination, kid.

Re: A Thousand Miles - Adventure (singular) - His Hero
Actually I'm pretty sure Tails is the only one telling the story accurately, and Sonic left out the races he had 'cause he was embarassed that he lost so many times, and also made himself the hero when in reality he mostly just sat around and watched while Tails beat on the Egg Hornet.
Sonic is an arrogant gaslighter. Makes me wonder if there ever even was an Egg Viper or if he just made that whole thing up too.

Also I'm kinda surprised that Tails' voice actor is actually a dude when so many fictional preteen boys are voiced by chicks.

For some reason when it comes to eng dubs in particular they don't do that as much.

yeah he was like 14 at the time and got replaced by his younger brother for SA2 cos his voice had broken. I mean I guess it's more authentic but it does explain why his acting is a little... shall we say wooden.

Re: A Thousand Miles - Adventure (singular) - His Hero
Fun Sonic Facts!
In the dog days of summer before Sonic Adventure's hotly anticipated western release, a deal was stuck with video rental franchise Hollywood Video, in which Sega Dreamcasts, along with cut down copies of Sonic Adventure, could be rented out before the consoles proper release. This version of Sonic Adventure was released July 15th, 1999 as Sonic Adventure: Limited Edition, containing juuuuust enough game to get people back to buy it come September 9th, with the US launch of the Dreamcast. The cleaner and fixed-up game was an even bigger commercial and critical success in the US, but surprisingly, high praise for the US version was also heard in Japan, where Sonic had never been all that big.
This version of Sonic Adventure was thus released in Japan under the title Sonic Adventure International, advertised as one of the "Play 4!" titles that Sonic Team announced after the initial release of Sonic Adventure (the others being the adorable Chu Chu Rocket, and Samba De Amigo) before moving on to work on the seminal Phantasy Star Online, the final of the four.
However, with the original team thus engaged, "Sonic Team USA" would be the ones to take on the terrifying task of developing the sequel: Sonic Adventure 2.

Re: A Thousand Miles - Adventure (singular) - His Hero
You thought it was just a simply a Sonic Game, but then a post modernist discussion about Tails and Sonic being unreliable narrators breached the conversation!
Making a quiet bet here. raocow won't give a single item to the chao for the rest of the playthrough.
Re: A Thousand Miles - Adventure (singular) - His Hero
"So Sonic was there after I crashed my plane, then we went and I fought Eggman with Sonic by my side! After that, we went to this Windy Valley area where Sonic and I somehow ended up in the sky in a race for another Chaos Emerald. Never mind the actual valley part being hit by a tornado or anything. Never happened.
Then there was a casino, but I couldn't gamble since I'm a kid, so we just wound up being thrown down in the basement where I raced Sonic to another emerald. But Eggman attacked us and stole it! Dang it. Then I'm the one that found the key to the Icecap stage where Sonic and I decided to do tricks down a mountain, and even though I crashed into and through walls, I got to the Chaos Emerald just before my best bud could! Amazing, huh?"
It really does sound like a little kid embellishing a story to make him and the situation sound cooler than they really are. Ha.

I think Tails is naturally well-prepared for snowboard tricks as he is already used to aerial control and has much-reduced consequences for failure

Make an episode where you get a DVD cover or poster or whatever of the movie and just examine it for a minute
