Pretty sure the timer stops on final hit. Still a dangerous proposition, though.

The eyes in the second layer of the DRM remind me a lot of the ghosts from Sonic Adventure 2 ngl
I kinda like Leemena's horned ghost designs (not the Hyudoro), what a waste that they were used in outright garbage.

According to several people, including my friend MotorRoach, this wasn't the first time Leemena lost her shit over sprite stealing and whatnot, the woman is a tool. The fucked up part is that most of the graphics are from like, DeviantArt, The Spriters' Resource... What a joke.

Based on past behavior and things he's said, I'm like 90% sure Doomsday zone will happen. I'm just not sure how yet--will he accept a save from someone, grind it out, or use the level select?

I'm kinda hoping he grinds it out. At the very least, I wanna see him experience all of them, and I'm fairly confident he hasn't yet. I haven't been keeping careful track, but I think there's at least 2 he never got to attempt.

rao--the reason that square in that last special stage didn't turn into rings is 'cause you hit the center sphere first. So you didn't surround any blue spheres, you just made a square of reds.

Fun fact since rao brought up how nice the ring sfx is: you may have noticed, but when you collect multiple rings in sequence, the game will actually shift the overlapping sounds to different channels and panning so as to not shred your eardrums with DLILILILILILILILILI

All the 16-bit games do this, at least as far as I'm aware.

So, since I think you get confused on this, raocow: In Blue Sphere, the spheres only turn into rings if you collect or "wrap" the outer border of blue spheres. In other words, like in last night's video, the only way the square would've turned into rings is if you jumped over not only the red sphere in front of you, but the blue sphere in the middle.

Let me do a primitive diagram here:

Fun Level Facts!

It is possible for Tails (or Sonic with Tails) to access a secret area just before the first Warp Point by flying straight up. This hidden area contains a Super Ring monitor, every type of Shield, Power Sneakers and an Invincibility. By jumping over the gap and to the right, two more Super Rings and an extra life can be found.

Also worth noting: This game doesn't quite spell it out here, but there are no big rings after this point. Plot-wise, it makes some sense (Robotnik's snatching of the Master Emerald profanes the shrine).

Also feeling this. Like, Sonic 2's special stages were a Thing, as was getting to them. But here,

he's literally given a level select once he gets the Bad End.

So like, why not showcase that?
