the difference between that phone port and the GBA port is that that's probably about the best that garbage phone can do, and sonic games on a phone control scheme are a recipe for disaster

whereas the GBA absolutely could've handled sonic 1 completely fine. yet it doesn't.

also sonic dreams collection was funny for about 10 minutes after it came out and has no comedy value remaining to wring out of it anymore

Something just occurred to me, maybe somebody who's seen the list of games can answer...

What exactly are the requirements as far as "All the Sonics" games go? Is it "Official Game by SEGA", or "Made by Official Devs"? If we wanted to get technical here, the hack "Sonic Megamix" is not an official SEGA game, but was made by the same people who made Sonic Mania before they did that game. Would it count as an official entry in the list, or at least enough for an honorary one-shot video?

Also, are we going for "First Official Release" or "Best Port Available" for each of the mainline games? Meaning, for example, would we see Sonic CD via the original release played through emulator, the official PC port, or the mobile port? What about Sonic 3 & Knuckles? That one could be the original Genesis ROM through an emulator, "Sonic 3 Complete" (an unofficial bug-fix/quality-of-life hack), or "Sonic A.I.R." (Feed it a Genesis ROM, and it outputs an improved version of the game converted into PC code so no emulator is needed). Sonic 3D Blast has an unofficial "Director's Cut" version that was made by the original developer and released as a hack.

Finally, and a much more minor thing, when we do get to Sonic CD, are we doing the American or Japanese soundtrack? Maybe raocow could play the intro and first level of both on video, and then make his decision from there? "Sonic Boom" is a decent song, but "You Can Do Anything" really deserves more recognition (as well as is referenced in other games), and Palmtree Panic isn't that long of a Zone to speed through anyways.

2) raocow has stated in the patapon spot zone "first official release"
3) no idea. IIRC there was talk of doing both the 93 original release, and the Steam REmaster, and i think it was decided he was only gonna do the original 93 release, though this was months ago.

Posting this in regards to raocow's comments about Sonic 3 and S3&K in today's video. Copy/Pasted from my YouTube comment merely for visibility...

Sonic 3 alone has a unique final boss (Big Arms) that you don't get to fight when you play S3&K. If you use "Sonic 3 AIR" or (I think) "Sonic 3 Complete", you can turn on an option that makes the boss appear regardless.
