Yeah, that level is totally built for drifting... except that the track is a bit too tight. I beat the thing the same way you did... without trying to drift. Well, at least you grinded the lives for it before the experience.

ah fuck I've fallen right for his laziness trap

or did YOU fall into my "telling raocow what to do without him noticing" trap...

I didn't even know it would work without drifting (and boosting), so I taught myself drifting using a YT video. You need it for exactly this stage and possibly for an S-Rank somewhere idk

I agree with certain YT comments that the trouble was raocow was doing drifting wrong, but the game also doesn't really show you the proper way to do it. If you have some understanding of racing games, it's a little easier to understand, because the game is basically following racing physics in this regard.

raocow, I think, makes the (understandable) mistake of thinking drifting is about making tighter turns, when it's really about maintaining speed in a turn. Thus he kept entering the corner on the inside. Problem is, basic physics dictate that the faster you go, the wider your turn will be. Drifting, while faster than just braking/moving slowly, is still a wide turn. Therefore, if you enter the turn on the inside corner like raocow always did, you'll always end up leaving the track (or falling into the void in this case).

Racing games that actually go out of the way to teach you drifting (not all of them do) make the point of starting your drift on the outside corner. This gives you enough lateral room to clear the turn without leaving the track. It might be counterintuitive distance-wise, but because you're keeping the same speed as you enter the turn, you exit the turn much faster than you would if you chose to make the turn cleanly by braking and slowing down. I'm almost certain this applies to Unleashed as well. It's just that Sonic Team never thought to teach such things.

They ARE teaching it. In the only level it's required for. That's our Sonic Team [laughtrack]

That nighttime Mazuri level you did last night was teaching you that if you're walking on a pipe-like structure, you won't be able to grab on to it if you fall.

Even with the lyrics, I can't narrow it down any.

Not much to say lately. Uh... never forget your stomp move in sections when you need to hit the ground and start running again? Yeah, let's go with that.

do you think this will end before episode 60? there's just two worlds left to super complete, a little post clean-up, and then the finale...
I think it's going to be closer than you expect and depends on how you split up the finale.

yeah like with 06 DLC is gonna be played at a later date!

under 60 seems unlikely to me tbh but we'll see

there's still
* shamar map cleanup (fairly large area so might be its own video)
* shamar side acts
* shamar missions (this will take more than one video imo)
* adabat day
* adabat side acts
* adabat missions
* missions loop 2.5 (several days, let's say... 3?)
*

the second plane level

*

eggmanland

*

the egg dragoon

*

dark gaia (could be same video as egg dragoon but probably not

my most conservative estimate is 10 videos. my least conservative is probably like... 16? my actual expectation is 14
i've honestly never played a video game in my life

Ah, life or death QTEs. Fun times. Combine that with the flaws that the werehog has, and yeah, getting close to time to build up that life count again.

i realize i forgot to include adabat's boss in here which will probably get its own video whether or not it needs to so add that to the tally
thus far my predictions have been accurate but i'm less confident about anything involving missions

right, so as we're finally nearing it, a reminder that hd eggmanland is A Thing, and that it might end up eating quite a lot of a day's recording time

definitely stock up on lives, too
