"Bae" seems very much like a millenial thing so say. I say, as a gen Zer, although being in this forum kinda makes you 10 years older by default, so I'm not sure I still count.

Also, the fact that this level is named "Pumpkin Hill" and not "Jack o' Lantern Hill" must mean that someone carved faces into each and every one of those hills.

Congratulations to raocow on getting every rank on a single level.

I counseled a group of Jr High kids at a summer camp and they were saying "bae" but this was 5+ years ago so maybe they've stopped by now.

Watching raocow fall to his death while trying to get to the chao when he could easily save himself was frustrating. The worst part is that the pillars aren't some far off part of the level you only see when you play the Mystic Melody; you can see them when playing through the stage normally. You can even see them from the checkpoint, and again while you're teleporting, so there should be no mystery telling where you are in relation to the rest of the level. At least raocow got a B rank out of it, which is better than he would have got if he did save himself, so I guess one could say there was some benefit.

i am admittedly a few videos behind but i really want to express my appreciation for sonic adventure 2's camera and its tendency to make you stare at a low-res jpeg while your character falls into an abyss somewhere behind it

raocow gets his e-bae

i enjoy aquatic mine's twisty tunnels and interconnectivity a lot as a level but it doesn't necessarily make for great exploration. it's still really cool tho

I'm going to repeat myself: I still think the ghosts are really scary
Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

After the first video here I felt like there was a good portion of the stage that raocow never explored, so it's nice seeing him explore more of it now. I also like how hard mode here forces you to keep the water raised, so you can't just go up and hit the 3 switch and just ignore the water for the most part.

You missed the final Emerald location because it's below a platform that floats on the water, and blocks the passage down when the water is lowered.

So yeah, the game did finally force you to interact with the water gimmick, but you didn't get that this is what you were doing :sandwich:

thankfully that A is completely free as long as you finish. the time requirement for an A rank is 2:50, you start with :60, and the checkpoints give you :50 and :60

fuck me running cowrao

tbh you're right in that in my mind it was mission 3 and 4 that were the Hard Ones but
watching this reignited some touchy fucking memories of mine

it's possible that i just like... assumed 3 and 4 were the hard ones because they're the Weird Ones? and since it was so many years ago.. but god damn do i remember having the same issue as you in hard mode. i just kept seeing the president on the horizon and not getting to him :monstrosity:

I always found Route 280 to be harder than Route 101, so I hope raocow at least learned some of the mechanics with the 4+ hour recording session.

He's going to need every bit of knowledge he has. n~yoron

A couple days late (looks like I caught back up just in time for the haha funny car levels), but:

While watching Mission Street's missions, I noticed that practically every jump you failed was because of this horrible physics quirk: if you're falling, and you're pushing against a wall, gravity will kick in *way* stronger. So if you jump and your toe rubs against a short wall, you'll drop like a rock. It's something I only noticed when I replayed the game last year, and after I noticed it I couldn't get it outta my head.

It feels the worst and most noticeable on the mechs, but I'm pretty sure it applies to everyone. I don't remember it being in Adventure 1, so I think it's completely intentional. Absolutely no clue why.
