All the S@nics - the end

this is the place where lps are being talked about. it's important to talk about games being played on the internet.

I feel like the Sonic & Shadow stages on Prison Island would have been better served with different fourth missions, seeing as the first ones are already timed.

I like seeing this level with something actually resembling a strict time limit. The time limit during the story is pretty much just for show, so it's nice to actually have a real sense of urgency in the fourth mission here. Although it's not super strict, at least you don't have time to stop and make yourself a sandwich.

I thought it would be kind of funny to write a comment that could apply to both of these levels and then just quote myself for this one, but it looks like you might have enough time to make a sandwich in this one if you're quick about it.

Sandwich potential aside, one thing that feels weird about this level is the bungee jumping part. If I remember correctly you can hold the jump button to descend further and collect some balloons, but this is never explained anywhere in the game. It just seems strange to me that they would program in some obscure optional mechanic into this bungee jumping thing that only appears this one time.

What's the joke with this double numbers (right now 388 &389) of videos? It has size of normal raocow's video and it's not the first time raocow is doing one more level. But he never before counted that as 2 videos in one, so why is he doing it now? I suspect this is some kind of meme unknown to me. Could somebody explain it?

It's not a meme at least.
My speculation: Hard mode used to be it's own video and now he decided to still count this hypothetical extra video even though it was just one video. AtS is ever evolving after all, not the first time he's decided to mess with the numbering (for example the .33333 and the .66666 episodes)
fart.

Yeah, I know. But when he was starting Sonic series, he was making 1 level per video. Later he changed his mind and made world per video. But he wasn't putting 3 numbers into title (for example 21 & 22 & 23), because he played 3 levels in one session. He just changed his initial idea about what should be in one video, but that's still one video. If he would make break next day after making this kind of video, it would be more understandable.

To be honest my only problem about numbering is it's hard to figure out how long this series is taking. Normally 1 number means 1 day. This means 365 videos equal 1 year. But with double numbers in one video you can't do that.

What's important is that the numbering in each individual game is consistent. And that's a consistent fact!
Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

AtS 30 was inconsistent with the rest of Sonic 2, though. :c

raocow has on multiple occasions had episodes number in the halves, and even episode zeros. Like, I wouldn't be surprised if we get imaginary number episodes next.

Why does the speedrun of this have like a minute and a half of leeway while City Escape and Radical Highway give you less than five seconds. That genuinely upsets me.

Now that I think about it when raocow decided to try hard mode, he chose to play 3 missions in one video and last mission in second video. Which means in first video he played only 75% of level and in second video he played only 25% of level. Now that he's playing all 4 missions, you can say that he plays 100% of the level. And that's why it should be one number and percentages in previous videos.

Actually he's playing 400% of the level, as should be obvious

Not sure if/why raocow is intentionally avoiding the hint monitors, but if it's related to the rankings - I'm pretty sure you can use one hint per emerald and still get an A rank. It saves a lot of time to know at least the general vicinity of an emerald.

At the very least please don't attempt Mad Space without the hints. Spare yourself the nightmares.
