Knuckles is truly rougher than the rest of em. Also wish he had a move in the fight where he just punches you into ceiling.

What an uppercut. Truly the real hero of Pocket Adventure there.

I wanna fly h- Oh, it's over.

It's probably telling that the ol' Tornado got demoted to ending and special stages in the Advance trilogy.

It looks like the Knuckles fight uses the exact same mechanics as the Adventure fights.

they even pulled from the s3 minigames (for the casino) and competition mode (for sky chase) for this ost

i know i'm pretty biased towards sonic 3 but i can still only see this as a good, positive thing

Funny enough, with as much visual detail as they tried to cram in the Game Gear and Master System games, I actually like this game's version of Sonic the best. Just to double-check the technical side of things, was there anything preventing them from using this style of Sonic, such as too many colors in a single sprite or something?

We're coming up on Sonic Shuffle, after we do the Pocket Adventure special stages and post-game, so as a non-gameplay-related heads up: you're probably going to want to record the VMU screen in Demul in addition to the gameplay window; the VMU screen is actually used for an important part of the gameplay, like, it's a core mechanic to the game, not just a momentary gimmick for some of the minigames (though I'm sure it's also that). I don't know much about your recording/editing software so I don't know how cumbersome recording two windows will be but, if you can do it, the videos would benefit greatly.

Also, is Sonic Shuffle going to be a one-shot or a multi-parter? Personally, I think it's worth it to show at least a couple of complete games: Sonic Shuffle is one of those games a lot of people snark at and dismiss without really giving it a chance which is a shame as it does have some really cool ideas that I wish Mario Party had adopted.

AviSynth should be able to handle that easily as long as he doesn't move his windows.

If I recall correctly (it's been a WHILE) if you're playing story mode, you don't need the VMU--you can see that information on screen. It's only when you're playing against friends that VMUs are critical. Unless I'm forgetting something major, I always did play with a VMU so I never really thought about it. I'm assuming you're talking about

seeing what cards you have

.

I hope he does a full story mode playthrough. I've said before, but I genuinely think Void is my favorite Sonic villian (and possibly sonic character)....Shuffle's not the greatest game in the world, but I love Void.

Yeah, I was talking about the thing in the spoiler tag. It's entirely possible that it may not be an issue in story mode, it's been a while since I played the game; I just wanted to give raocow a heads up early that it might be an issue.

I'm in favour of a full story mode playthrough, too.

You may remember it as the subtitle for MegaMan X8.

Edit: Are emeralds actually assigned to acts? Or can be just do Act 1 repeatedly?

Insane how the worst part of Sonic 2 would end up being one of the mainstays in the franchise.

All this did was remind me of the guy on Sonic Retro who casually declared that the spindash was the beginning of the decline of the Sonic series
