Eggman just dislikes monkeys and puts them in cages for fun.

In case you were wondering: you can walk on the water in the Chaos fight because it turns into greenish goop when Chaos falls into it at the beginning:

Speed Highway
Casinopolis

Would Knuckles be unable to feel were it not for the great emerald's power?

Having played Sonic Adventure 2 but not 1, I really think that game could've used the more granular item det3ctor that this game had. That probably would've helped a lot of the levels.

Yeah that's pretty much the general consensus, especially with how big the stages get in 2

It feels like they decided the treasure hunts in SA1 were over too quickly, without realizing they're fundamentally not that fun, so it's better for them to be over quickly.

I honestly liked the treasure hunting levels in SA2, although it's been years since I've played that game. I just remember enjoying running around these huge spaces looking for stuff.

Same, Sonic levels usually look pretty nice but they're over in a flash. Letting Knuckles take some time to slow down and look for stuff isn't a bad idea. I like the levels in 2 better, but the radar is nowhere near as good as the one in 1.

Agreed about the radar, but I'll also thorw out there that I like the hint system in 2 way more than just "this way". Overall, I think I found SA2 to be the more enjoyable knuckles experience.

Yeah i will agree the levels are more interesting in 2 but that comes with caveats;
1. There are 9, not 5
2. Two of them are overly similar to another two (each first stage, egg quarters/death chamber)
3. Two have annoying/unnecessary gimmicks (time limit, mad space)
4. This is all the side effect of them adding a knuckles clone tho
5. But yeah the radar change is dumb
