i really don't enjoy this level, also i always skip half of it by going through the rotor because the less i have to play the better. tomorrow isn't any better though

Death Egg Zone was originally meant to be a full stage, but that was scrapped around the middle of development as Sonic Team realized that it would take too much time to insert another tileset and area map. Instead, it was made into the final boss fight, much like Final Zone from Sonic 1, reusing Chemical Plant Zone's graphics and only getting a new background. That change was not communicated in time to Masato Nakamura, who had already created an entire song for the Death Egg Zone and was a bit shocked to learn the average player would only hear about three seconds of it.
Since Death Egg Zone was one of the last zones finished, there are some questionable decisions and missed bugs in it. The biggest is that Robotnik is meant to have a laughing animation whenever Sonic takes a hit from Mecha Sonic. However, since Sonic has no Rings, taking a hit results in the player dying and instantly freezing all gameplay. As well, the door sprite in both Chemical Plant Zone and Death Egg Zone is actually assembled incorrectly, with the right side flipped the wrong way with 8×8 tiles that go unused due to the incorrect sprite assembly. The reason for this is because the doors use the object subtype $00, the subtype for the doors in Hill Top Zone, rather than subtype $02 which is meant to be used in Chemical Plant and Death Egg.

Okay, to answer some points in the last video:
- You had other opportunities to hit that final boss. The part above his spiky hands is also vulnerable, which means you can hit him right after he does his stomp attack (since he lowers himself while doing so), and you can time your jumps for another hit or two when he launches his hands at you. That shortens the boss time considerably.
- The All Emeralds ending doesn't add any color to still frames. The only thing that occurs is Sonic goes Super after landing on the Tornado (if I recall this matter correctly).
- The song you didn't recognize, and the one before that, are the Two Player Vs. Mode tracks for Emerald Hills Zone and Mystic Cave Zone. There is a third track that is also for Casino Night Zone in 2P Vs.

close, instead of falling, Sonic has already gone Super and is flying down on his own, and flies alongside the plane instead of landing on it. side note: with all emeralds, the Flickies are replaced with Lockies (bald eagles) because Flicky shares Sonic's palette (which I learned after beating the game as Knuckles, as the Flickies are red)
for those curious, if you've beaten Death Egg as Tails, there's no alternate screens with Sonic in Tails' place, so instead you have an additional 45 seconds of Tails falling, spinning all the way, so the music is synced with Sonic's arrival in the plane

Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

Fun fact: Whenever I see the box art for this game, I would always parse the title as "Sonic 2: The Hedgehog". I'm glad to see the logo on the final screen of the game continues this proud tradition.

Guess I missed a day or two again... I could toss in the Masa Demos for Wing Fortress Zone or the two songs from Death Egg Zone, but I think now's the time to bring out a more special Sonic 2 related song in Japanese and English! The Sonic 2 ending song... is actually a love song!
I really am not a fan of when Sonic games go "Okay, fight this boss with no rings at all" and it especially stings when they do it for the big finale of the game after you were having a good time. I guess it's a way to extend gameplay, or to avoid how easy it can be to just collect a ring, take damage, grab it again, be invincible. I feel like some of the modern 2D Sonic games circumvent that by having rings you recollect bounce farther and farther away if you keep losing the same ones.
I'm looking forward to the upcoming 1993 Sonic games, we're gonna get some... interesting ones... if I remember right.

You can make the fight much quicker by jumping over his hand spikes and hitting him in the chest during his march, as well as when he stomps like thatguyif said. They're very risky moves though.
I think having no rings Is what ruins this boss. The threat of a one-hit death stops you from experimenting and you adopt the safest, most boring strategy, and I couldn't blame you.
Btw if you can get behind Robotnik as he's coming down to stomp you, he'll perform a different attack. I believe he throws out Robotnik-shaped bombs? It's been too long since I've seen it.
