There's a stupid easter egg in the boss room in Dynamic Dungeon: if you wait around for long enough, you'll find a moon. Last night, nathanisbored streamed himself getting that moon and it took him like 3 hours. It was marvellous.

The story starts with MaGL3.
November 2016. My MaGL3 level (called "It's a level. WOW!") had its first part similar in aesthetics, and used the "Journey to the Right" platform like this one does. It also used a Wall Jumping patch. One of the due complaints I heard from a judge was that the wall jumping felt a little bad, and it got me thinking. I thought of the Punchy Glove as a way to have Wall Jumps without Wall Jumps, so to speak.

Then, I basically remade the first part of that MaGL3 entry as something a bit more whole.

I was so enamored by the end result that I didn't see the potential issue this would have. It relies on the vanilla "launch beyond top speed" quirk, one of the quirks I mistake for granted as something widely known among SMW romhack players. As a result, it does ask the player to fight their intuition of pushing in the direction they want to go at. Despite all this, I still find a really good appeal in the flow of the level, once the launches are mastered; level is just more niche than I imagined.

It doesn't really work without a button prompt, I feel. Props for the creativity, you're admittedly one of the more creative ASMers, but I just didnt like this level much.

It's not a bad stage though, the first stage I actually disliked is still yet to show up. If you're on the discordhaus you might know what I'm talking about.

That scrolling Koopling fight was really neat, and the highlight of the video for me.

So if you press L/R on the map, do you switch between Demo and Iris?

So raocow started today World 3 and just went through this level. Personally I don't like this level. I had really bad time with it. There are all this projectiles flying and it's combined with sand. I had so much problem to get out of sand. I hate that in SMBX and I hate it here.

Also if I would play without savestates, then my journey with this hack would end somewhere in the middle of World 3.

The punchy glove mechanic is something that feels like it'd work better in a game with an air dash

I mean, Celeste pretty much had that same mechanic for starters

Also reminded me of bounce man's stage too tbh, which was like two days ago

I know for a fact that there is a different palette for a Player 2.

Player 2 palettes are pretty fun, actually.

Not the solution, but for those curious, the La-Mulana hint in the shop level

is for the shop level itself. the reward for solving it is nonessential

I'll admit that I might have found what the hint is referring to but am not 100% sure how someone is supposed to get it from that because I found it on complete accident.

There is a hidden door just to the left of that weird pit with the 1-up shroom that leads to an easier to use life farm, though how the whole "count to ten then let go for a thousand more" thing is associated with it is... anyone's guess, really.

whoa you actually bruteforced it by pressing up everywhere? I'm impressed! Not sure if I should spoil the actual solution though since there's still a non-zero chance that raocow will come back to it.

I don't even know how I did it. I just somehow happened to push up in the right spot without even thinking about it. No brute-forcing intended, just sheer dumb luck.
