The one bonus that will always stick in my mind is

when they hid a bonus stage in another bonus stage. Not only is it completely unmarked, but to get it, you have to "win" the worst possible price, a single banana, which then transforms into a barrel to bust open the wall. Even though the same bonus in a previous world did just give you said single banana, no barrel there. And if that wasn't enough, even if you know what to do, getting into the entrance is pretty finicky as well, if you're too slow the game will take control away from you and play the lose animation.



At least it's so dumb that once you learn about it, you'll probably never forget it in future playthroughs.

Actually, that looks pretty nice for an NES pirate game.

It's by the same people who did Somari and Kart Fighter and published by the same people who published 7 Grand Dad and that Wario Land 2 Kirby's Adventure romhack, actually.

Seriously Super Maks this isn't funny. You can't just copy the La-Mulana topic title, causing a bunch of confusion. Especially later this afternoon when the next La-Mulana vid goes up (especially if rao get's confused himself and puts down the wrong link).
Jerk move.

Should've have at least saved this for April Fool's day, which is only 1 week away. Then it would have been funny.

Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

You know that doesn't actually work. Sure, it'll show on the side of the main page, but not the actual list of topics.

I also remember in the Rayman topic that someone was specifically told not to do that, since it was considered bad form.

Hyper VI - Oh Haimari... Maybe It's Best We Part

Hyper 6 is the sixth installment of the Hyper series by Japanese hacker Haimari. The hack was released in 2010, but the beginning of the series goes all the way back to the beginning of SMW romhacking itself back in the early 2000s. The series is primarily known for its steep learning curve (even people on Japanese message boards used to complain about the absurd difficulty!) but if you're up to the challenge and don't mind the grind it can be quite fun as well. Hyper 6 marks the last completed installment of the series - there's a demo of Hyper 7 available online, but Haimari never finished it before dropping off the internet forever back in 2013.

The level design itself is reminiscent of Anikiti's design philosophies at times but the hack is not afraid to focus on its own unique gimmicks as well. Even though the early installments of the series are quite janky and weird (think YUMP, but unironically) by 2010 Haimari had definitely found his style, so blatantly janky levels are a rarity in this game. The hack does expect you to have quite a lot of patience though, what with its high difficulty and often very long levels, but I guess we'll see how raocow deals with them when we get there. One thing is for sure: It will not be easy and I honestly expect to see some struggles, but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end.

On desktop you can look at the OP's name and know Super Mak's thread is the DK one, but on mobile you have to rely on page count.

Personally I feel like this joke is just a halfhearted version of the stronger joke of actually merging the threads, which would be a halfhearted version of merging all the threads in the talkhaus. Gotta commit to your bits.
