But yeah, we've reached the area containing the music on rao's top 20 lists of favorites
Where's this list? I'm interested to read it.
And I tend to agree. Giant's Cry is one of my favorite tracks, both in this game and just sort of overall in video games. I also recommend listening to Giant's Rage (Sakit's boss theme) again after listening to Giant's Cry. Or vice versa. Spot the similarities!

What a ridiculously stereotypical raocow move missing the very difficult to miss door opening animation, going through an entirely different field, accidentally making a beeline straight that field's grail point despite it not being straightforward to reach, and then accidentally his way into the Temple of Moonlight from the other direction and expressing surprise when it dumps him into the Temple of the Sun through the door he previously managed to somehow not even see.
FPzero wrote: ↑3 years agoYeah I'm also very happy he managed to have a memory of that because I wasn't sure how else he'd have found it.
He could've found it by total accident like I did. I found it while attacking one of the stupid hedgehogs long before ever discovering all the clues that would've lead me there.

I think the Temple of Moonlight theme is one of the few cases where I prefer the remixed version to the original. It's so good.

Well, I think I sent rao the PM asking him on the same day he revealed it. Unfortunately, I can't pinpoint the day since this forum only shows I sent it '1 year ago'. I think It's getting pretty close to 2 years, but if I knew the exact date I could find either the youtube video or patreon post where he wrote the list.
I also told rao in that PM what my favorite music is in this game. I would mention it to all you guys now, but I'm afraid simply name dropping the song (without revealing where it plays) would have some throw a coniption over 'spoilers'.

Hover over the "1 year ago" bit and it'll show the actual date in a tooltip.

I think we're starting to see why the Knife, while initially useful, is pretty dangerous overall. Yes, it's good but it requires you to be so close to enemies. And here in the graveyard with the ice physics to deal with it's not an ideal weapon for facing your foes. The increasing amounts of enemy contact damage are also supposed to be signs that you need to approach enemies more carefully than you might be used to.
If you're feeling like the Graveyard is really annoying and bad to travel through, don't worry you're not alone. It's pretty awful to deal with.
If you're stumped here, then yeah just find somewhere else to explore. You might have an epiphany after reading a hint tablet somewhere else, or after finding some new item.

My confusion is wouldn't rao be able to produce that list himself? Eh whatever, I'll find it soon.
I remember the Buckler being able to block the hadokens those ice turtles being able to throw, despite the large size of the blasts. And here I was going to ask if you were ever going to buy the buckler again.

i did a top 10 list of my favorite games on twitter and
apart from like the first two being like legend of mana and okami; and romancing saga 2, final fantasy ix, dkc2 and nights into dreams being somewhere in there, i don't think i'd ever be able to memorize it because i have no real bias or preference towards anything.
i just "really like" things, and i assume raocow is the same

even if raocow figured out the solution to that block puzzle, i don't think he can solve it until he gets the double jump anyways

That's exactly the case since you need to push one of the lower blocks down first in order to access the right side of the room after pushing the top block down. It doesn't seem to be possible to push the top block down and then to the right far enough to get up and over it but not so far that you can't push it.

according to the patapon spotzone, he can solve it with what he has:

they said they just tested it, and it works.

Okay, found raocow's Top 20 List of favorite game tunes. It was in the description of EarthWorm Jim - 9 - Intestinal Distress, on November 22, 2017 (I wish youtube would let you search by dates. So much scrolling).
I asked rao in that PM awhile back if the placements meant anything or not, and he replied "The order isn't strict but is a general feel for things, if that makes sense?"
0. Crash and Burn (Korean Guilty Gear XX soundtrack)
1. Graveyard of the Giants (La-Mulana)
2. Use Your Head (EWJ:SE)
3. Cave Theme (Yoshi Island)
4. Terra's Theme (FF6)
5. Forest Theme (ASMT)
6. Heian Alien (Touhou)
7. Skullgirl Title Theme (Skullgirl)
8. Hard Man (MM3)
9. Map Screen and variants (Chrono Cross)
a. Magitech Factory (FF3)
b. Main Scribblenaut Motif (Scribblenauts)
c. Basement (Binding of Isaac)
d. Hsien-Ko's Theme (Darkstalkers)
e. Monkey Mines (DKC2)
f. Corneria (StarFox)
g. Simian Acres (Blast Corps.)
h. Psycho Warriors (KOF'94)
i. Bomberman Theme (various Bombermen)
j. Forest Maze (Mario RPG)
Wow I forgot how high up Giant's Cry was. So rao, I'll ask again, old or new?

Hahahaha... It's so mean that the tablet warning about the fake shield is in the room after the shop with the fake shield. I fell victim to that in my playthrough, too, as I'm sure almost everyone else who had 100 gold at the time did.

I've tested this myself on several occasions and never successfully managed it so I don't think it's intended. It has to be pixel perfect apparently.

Good progress today even if it didn't feel like it. The (real) Silver Shield can be extremely useful in fields where the enemies spew lots of projectiles, and a longer life bar is always welcome.
No music today as Sebby already took care of posting the relevant track (Giant's Cry) yesterday.
