La-Mulana - Wishbringer

this is the place where lps are being talked about. it's important to talk about games being played on the internet.

My very limited understanding is that Mulan goes out of its way to have obscure and completely arbitrary unlock requirements for content so yeah

For now, I'll guess a vague 'longer than Nitriod'
I honestly don't think it'll hit a hundred episodes. I don't think that the 90s are unreasonable if he decides to do

Hell Temple

though.

patapon spotzone consensus is that it won't be that bad at all; the bigger concern is backseating

I hope raocow is just gonna ignore all comments and stick to Voltgloss' notebook for this one, but I also desperately want him to take on the message of don't be afraid to use the menu lots!!! because he's typically quite averse to doing so... nyoro~n

Perhaps the audience should get an up-front in-video "hey peeps please do not spoil anything unless specifically requested"?

And maybe an ultimatum that raocow will AUS the lp if people don't comply.

It's more or less just Castlevania 3, or whatever they were using before alucardvania came around.

just be glad it's not like in the original la-mulana, haha

there's a weird satisfaction to getting confident with the limited, but not fixed, jump angles this game lets you have. i love jumping off to the side, holding back a little, then holding forward again and landing exactly where i want to

Spoilering this in case it's something raocow doesn't know:

I haven't played a huge amount of the old Castlevanias but from what I recall they're only superficially similar. When you jump in La-Mulana you're committed to that direction but you actually do still have some control over it. And when you jump straight up you have quite a bit of air control at the expense of not having nearly as much distance.

Really been looking forward to this playthrough, probably going to save up a weeks worth to binge or something before I watch though.

I really really really hope the backseating is under control though, I remember when raocow disabled comments for the AUS videos at some point, I'd kinda just suggest you not look at comments at all on youtube.

So are you going to outright tell the general populate to shut up when it comes to spoilers/handholding/backseating or are you going to take your chances and hope everyone behaves on their own

I tried to make it very clear during the video that this is a game for exploration and that I will be very clear if I ever want help on anything, and that just because I ask myself a question doesn't mean I want it answered immediately. we'll see what happens.

It's so weird hearing the first level music in its actual original context and not in a Super Mario World hack.

I watched parts of some of Deceased Crab's playthroughs, but this is the first time I'll be seeing things in full. This has always been a game that I love watching people figure out but think I would never want to play ever with how out-there some stuff is. Anyway, I remember precisely zero details from those playthroughs, like, literally not even one, so

I don't really have any idea what this game is while it seems very well known going by the comments. Regardless it looks interesting. Particularly the writing seems funny so far. Slightly afraid the stop and go nature of the lp will make me lose track of things, if it's as long as people are making it out to be. I remember that being a thing with distorted travesty. Should be fun seeing what this game is like though. Always nice experiencing new games.
Good luck and have fun rao.

Time for some proper adventuring music to kick off a proper adventure. And La-Mulana delivers.

Taokaka from BlazBlue

she *did* eat a book in that one episode of "Teach Me, Miss Litchi"

though that was mostly by her own comrades spurring her on to do so, not so much her own volition.

Taokaka is still dumb as a rock.
