Wow, congratulations for beating that star, raocow! I'm always astounded by the level of patience you demonstrate every time, I don't think anyone would've blamed you for using savestates on it.
Also, sebby, I fail to see how that could ever be a joke.

The things I wanted to say have mostly been covered by other people and the video itself, so I'll just add that the mini-castle that has the 6th and 7th red coins, while neat looking, is needlessly big and the player wastes a lot of time trying to get to the far ends of it.

I could have done that in 3-5 lives.
With awful sloped ground and Megaman X7 fire spinners everywhere? Doubt it.
Not that doing this, or this "joke" add anything of worth to the experience of the LP.

So the 'Paper Mario' powerup is legit awesome and hilarious. I just wonder what the powerup itself looks like out of the box.

About Paper Mario powerup - I had huge problem fitting into a pipe leading to desert. Also I wonder if raocow will finally find Boss level.

Huh,Kaze seems to really like hiding levels inside other levels in this hack. Or at least, he does in this hub area. Don't usually see a secret level branching off into two more secret levels.
Still, the third area is gonna be a fun one. Difficulty seems to spike again around there, and a couple of the final levels are pretty brutal.

The desert and the aquarium both looked like they were gonna be a huge pain in the jacksie, but were well laid-out!
I mean, not the most creatively arranged or anything, but well!

From what I could tell it just looked like a fire flower power-up, but flat?
Either way, it's easily one of the neatest powerups added to this game so far

Above the Clouds is like this game's Giant Spear Man, it's gonna follow you until the end of time! ...well actually, this was the last one.
God I was so scared when you were jumping back on the boat from above after getting all the reds because something like this can happen

The key is to panic calmly, you have to calmly panic

Keep calm and panic internally
With that said, the war between raocow and the Last Impact camera still rages on...

raocow!
i also wonder why you kept jumping to the front of the ship even though even in panic mode you would still be a lot safe jumping to the middle but w/e

Yeah, this one's easier than the other one more-or-less solely because of the fact that you can wait around and take your time if you don't get back to the ship in time. It takes a little while for it to come back around and waiting is annoying, but it doesn't take nearly as many tries with that considered.
Unfortunately, since you played the other one first, you didn't notice the loop until the very end. Owww.
I had the reverse (and much less damaging) problem. I played this one before the last Above the Clouds and I sat around for like five minutes there waiting for the boat to return before realizing it wasn't going to. ^^;
Thankfully, this is indeed the last Above the Clouds.

Oh boy, Shadow Factory, at least it's done tho, but man that level is incredibly stressful with the instant death circles, especially the ones that kill you where the star on the tower is..
ONTO TIER 3
Things here get a little... Very demanding, like, really demanding with walljumps and movement tricks, good luck...!

That 2nd Bowser level was like the first thing I found as soon as I gained access to the cannon, it just seemed very obviously a thing to cannon over to me.
But on the other hand, because of the fact that I had already found the next bowser area and all the stages in the 2nd hub, I assumed that's all there was to do there and I never found that Paper Mario powerup and the whole desert bonus area until raocow found it for me. So yeah in some ways it's a good thing raocow never thought of using that cannon more than once lol.

Ah, Shadow Factory is really something. So first of all I'm surprised that raocow didn't use more wall jumps. It would make this level a bit easier. Also when you are on slope and you are facing direction where it's goes up, you will have a problem with double jump or even grabbing ledge in front of you. So you end up jumping in place. Also remember that back flip don't give you option to grab ledges.
I hate green jellies at the top. I always have problem to figure out where they are placed in space. And man, raocow, you got the gear star so easily. That's amazing.
As for boss. Unlike in the rest of the level holes throwed by Shadow Mario aren't instant death. They just move you and make your jumps smaller. As for strategy I founded easier to use ground pound. You can instant ground pound by pressing both Z and A at once. You probably did it few times by mistake when you tried long jump. The strategy is to hit him with ground pound, wait 1 second and again ground pound and again wait 1 second and repeat. This makes this chaotic battle very short.
Also death after getting red coins star was very epic.
So now that second hub is completely cleared raocow is moving to the third hub. And knowing his luck tomorrow may be Grande Finale.

Yeah those Green Jell-O blobs would have made me nervous too. I can only think of one instance in regular SM64 that is essentially one-tile jumps, and thankfully you can just jump over all that. It's in the volcano.

Like most Mario 64 hackers, the problem is yes he has. Too much, to the point he doesn't realise that what's practical for longtime players (and speedrunners) is a lot less practical for your average Joe gamer.
This hack expects you to have absolutely mastered the original game's physics before playing.

the trailer video for last impact says it's hard so he acknowledges this is hard stuff at least and also advocates not going for 100%
it doesn't mean the level design couldn't be way better though

there's definitely tons of things that could be improved.
I can't exactly blame Kaze for not being able to put himself in the shoes of an Intermediate player -- as extended knowledge of an engine is an all-too-common perspective trap, and the worry of people complaining things are "too easy" is all too looming overhead.
In fact, to me this is why it's all so frustrating. The game is *so close* to being adequate. The ideas are there. The execution is there. But then there's the few edge cases that get too short-sighted, some glaring source of frustration that crept up -- and these are often the ones that can break people's experiences.
Then again, this sort of thing is the reason why QA testing are extremely important in the professional business -- QA testing is not a luxury that's readily-available to most people who do it as a hobby.
