Oh no! D:
I hope tooth things go alright.

(On a game-related note, I found this boss kind of... there? It's basically just stand-on-a-building-and-wait-for-Kamek-to-come-close-enough-to-jump-on. And it never feels like you're in any danger because the Goombas all give coins. Like, all of the "challenge" comes from depth being hard to tell in SM64 and that more just makes the boss take longer than adding any actual fun difficulty.)

He's not a professional, he's a hobbyist romhacker
I mean while that's a fair comment, he does however have a patreon up for all his romhacking shenanigans + gets commissioned (or at least last time i checked, dunno if it's still up), it's kinda weird how something that he gets paid for most of the time comes out unpolished or inconsistent, it just kinda feels wrong...

...at least imo, for all i know

Man I've had those nightmares where my teeth fall out, and it's scary.

I see why thinking that just happened would be shocking. What a strange turn of events.

I'm sure it was more frightful than it was painful. It's definitely a shock and a half.

When the tooth fell out I recalled the moment a certain person's fingernail fell off during Pepsiman (38:40)

I feel that sometimes it's fine to not have much risk of dying if there's still a fun challenge to overcome. Meaning, you're probably not going to lose, but it doesn't mean you won yet, until you actually beat the level.

This is how I felt about 3D games in general at times - when you're on open land, things that just roam around in their spots (like SM64 Goombas) are not a threat to begin with unless you choose to engage with them.

Oh, yeah, definitely!

I just feel this particular case isn't fun. ^^;
When I played it it seemed like Kamek's movements were completely random. He took forever to come near any of the buildings and then I missed the jump and had to wait around another minute and a half while he went flying around the area without buildings, all the while doing absolutely nothing but sitting around and hitting A now and then if he happened to decide to throw a Goomba at me.

With this level probably being the most easygoing and forgiving one thus far, this is probably an ok "boss fight".

First star (for me) is the hardest star to obtain. Climbing the volcano is really tough. Camera is mostly awful and some higher platforms are so close to wall that I had problems to get on one high platform, because the wall nearby was "catching me" and "bounce" me back. Luckily you figured out you can go from top of the volcano. Also if you fear lava - grab ice flower, it gives you immunity to lava.

As for path to Ice Zone - you have figured it out. The path is at the starting point on the left. It's not visible from starting point, so it's easy to overlook. Ice slide on the other hand is easy.

Another thing is that every first star in this hub is always problematic in some way. Hell, some first stars are even the hardest stars in courses. For me this is really weird design decision. I don't know, but I think I would prefer to start course from relatively easy star, not the hardest.

As one of those people that I guess is "good" at the SM64 engine (seeing as I didn't find any of the stars in this lava ice level hard in the slightest), I'm continuously finding far more baffling things in raocow's decision making process than in the game design itself.

I'm gonna post some stuff that I noticed that you could've done way better in today's video, but since I'm actually enjoying watching you play badly I'll put it in spoilers and leave it up to you whether you want to read it or not.

Okay, so you didn't see the entrance to the ice zone at the start right away, but then you went in a loop back to the start to get to the ice zone not once, but twice without thinking "hmm, maybe I should stop and look around and see where this place actually is in relation to the rest of the lava zone"

Going into the ice zone, you're just walking straight forward as if you're in a linear hallway, and not even considering the possibility that the thing you're looking for, or a path to it, might be just around the corner if you'd only turn the camera. I guess sometimes you tend to forget that you're playing an exploration game where looking around is a thing that the game expects you to do.

That annoying ice slope that you gave up on and resorted to crawling... I don't know why you're so afraid of trying triple jumps but this is one of those situations where a triple jump would've helped make getting up that slope very quick and easy.

Watching raocow spend several minutes just to get back to where he started the level
was one of the more raocow-Esque things I've seen in a while :rao:
Uh...Do I just sign here? What do you mean it should be obvious? There are people in this world...well...a whole lot of people that can't follow basic instructions!

okay, your navigation skills could use some work for one thing, and i tend to have issues with that too

secondly, you could see where to go for the first star several different times while on the giant pillar

This is yet another post that I could argue the minutiae of by pointing out, say, that raocow probably didn't know which exit/entrance was which since he had only came in from the top, but the premise is not worth arguing with

Of course raocow sometimes makes baffling decisions in gameplay, but if that is "painful" enough to you that you have to make passive-aggressive posts about it every week, you probably shouldn't be watching raocow, that's part of the whole charm

(No problem at all with warpio's post, it's a much more reasonable way to talk about the subject)
Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

First star today is really tough. Mostly because darkness wall jump section. This would be ideal to have side camera, but camera very fast change into behind Mario camera. It's very annoying. The first time I played Last Impact this section took me a lot of tries to beat it. And all the time I was fighting camera. Also did I said that wall jumping and operating camera at the same time is hard. Add to that time limit and you have a disaster star. Never before I prayed for lakitu camera that much like during this star.

I knew that green plant can kill you, but never knew the big red flower can also kill you. Finding coins behind fake walls took me a lot of time.

Today, raocow (i) paid attention to a clue given by the game; (ii) thought to connect that clue to a problem he was facing; (iii) acted on that thought; and (iv) with careful observation, solved an out-of-the-ordinary (for Mario 64) puzzle.

Well done.

Bee time!
This is luckly the smallest course in the game iirc, it doesn't take much to traverse and the red coins are incredibly easy to find, there is only one downside to this course, and it's in this spoiler:
the boss is pretty much the worst one in the game, and the spider cave segment can be extremely awkward
Other than that this course is ok... Even if it doesn't teach you how to use the bee transformation at all
