Yeah, it definitely seems like SimpleFlips didn't have the same problem because his Mario wasn't constantly moving. The camera's refusal to stay still wasn't just in response to being in a certain position, it was caused also by Mario being moved by the platform. Doing platformness subsequently means less camera trouble, because you're actually in control of when Mario moves and have a lot more breathing room to readjust the camera.

Well, that was a bit of a mess.
But hey, that's arguably the hardest (or maybe second hardest) star in this part of the game, and the level its in is arguably up there too. You'll be happy to know many other levels in this part of the game are a lot more reasonable, and don't require you to fight the camera over a bottomless pit like in the factory here.

This is the worst star in course 6, which despite being the first numbered, is the hardest course in hub 2 imo.

I feel that this game isn't good/polished enough to merit raocow trying so hard at beating it legit. How about going back to good old savestates?

I feel like it would take something egregiously difficult for raocow to go back to doing things with savestates.
My feeling is that unless the game actively becomes a chore to play, it's worth playing it without savestates to see what the game actually plays like and judge it accordingly. Using savestates almost feels like ceding ground to the hack, glossing over the parts of it that aren't good.

dang it awoo you stole the joke i was gonna make
today on raocow: raorio visits Space Candyland, falls victim to a badly-run factory that is falling apart. Multiple times.
Man, one of these days the Space Government is gonna shut that place down, right?

Probably not until raocow visits the Space Bureaucracy level, which I think is in another few levels. Might have to get a few forms notarized before he's able to enter it, though.

I dunno, he seems pretty acquainted with the space masters of space, given he regularly gets to travel with Demo, so perhaps they'll let him enter easily! But the Space Cafeteria... Hoo boy, that's a whole nother story

COURSE SPOILERS IN THIS
Honestly most of Hub 2's courses are obnoxious to traverse, Honey course is extremely cramped and has one of the worst bosses in the game
Sky course has an extremely broken boss that can kill you when you hurt it, not only that but it requires you to jump on paragoombas in a 3D space in mario 64 of all things
Candy course takes one year to get from one place to another and has some of the worst and most awkward stars, like the rollercoaster one
The City is maaaaybe the only tolerable one, had the easiest boss, too, and a neat little story progression
The first star in Volcice land is IMPOSSIBLE if you don't know how jumps work, you gotta climb a huge shafts that ROTATES and has like 4 ledges to climb and if you misjump you die to lava, and this is the first star you are supposed to get, why?
Hub 3 is... I'll get to it when raocow gets there but ohhh boy, you guys a fan of Sunshine's Pachinko? Because guess what kaze put in one of the main courses
This is gonna start being a rough ride, imo

Pressing right on the d-pad lets you alternate between the center-camera-behind-mario button being a slower loop or a super quick jump, I'm not sure if that would help at all.
But yeah, how to start the rollercoaster star is really poorly conveyed.

Stupid horses, now in 3D!
It's so weird seeing things from Mario Sunshine and later in a Mario 64 hack, at least to me. What's next?

It's not communicated half as well as it should be but considering there's a Yoshi in this level which is basically a powerup and not an npc combined with the fact the whomp doesn't appear to actually move around should be some sort of clue that you should at least check. The intro video should definitely put more of an explicit focus on the whomp though instead of that zoomed out view where it's easy to assume it's focusing entirely on the rollercoaster from the beginning.

The black spiral is probably black licorice. It's reasonably popular in Germany (and I think the author is German?), not sure about other places

Ah, black licorice, the black sheep of the Haribo gummies family.

The nice thing about enjoying black licorice is that other people are usually more than happy to give you theirs. It's win-win.

I'll never understand why people hate black licorice but love boring flavors like vanilla though. It's freaking weird.

licorice is a candy I find anti-fun to eat. It makes me impatient after a little bit. and also my throat gets irritated when I do eat it.

raocow keeps blaming momentum, but I bet if he let's go of the Control Stick before he lands, most of his problems will go away.
Unless you are jumping to something WWAAAYYY off in the distance, there's no point in touching the Control Stick halfway through any normal jump. Especially the Long Jump.

Also, man, take care raocow! Although your voice does sound funny when you're sick.

You can find it in American supermarkets, but it's by no means common.
