This game really could use a better Mechanic. Someone to iron out the bugs.

Please clarify.
In Super Mario Galaxy, the player encounters scenarios where they're given an Ice Flower and guided to a pool of lava to cross using it. It's less "explained" and more blatantly clued in through context.

That doesn't seem to happen in Last Impact, however. The game would more or less just assume you knew.

The difference here though is that crossing lava with the Ice Flower isn't necessary at all in Last Impact,
it's more of a helpful easter egg than anything else
Uh...Do I just sign here? What do you mean it should be obvious? There are people in this world...well...a whole lot of people that can't follow basic instructions!

I think it's more just outright laziness or an oversight. After all, dry ice is just recolored lava, so something that grants immunity to either would grant immunity to the other as well.

And, consequently, it'd also give immunity to desk.

Yeah. As someone whose favorite Mario is Galaxy and who's played it a billion times, walking on lava was one of the first things I tried, but for someone who hasn't I'd imagine that'd be, like, the exact opposite of common sense. It's super poorly conveyed.

Same with the flight meter mechanics on Bee Mario.

I don't think I realized just how much this game assumes you've played Galaxy until watching raocow.

I wonder if other Galaxy powerups will appear, like Boo, Spring, and Boulder/Rock. The only non Galaxy powerup to appear so far is the Frog Suit.

What would have made things easier today was starting your Bee Flight much later into your Long Jump. I think you started flying like halfway through a normal one.

For the first bee suit star this one is quite hard. Right after jumping on little lily pads above water there are jumps above bottomless pit. That's not very good way to start course or tutorial for bee suit. Also you aren't skillful with the camera, raocow. Camera is good, you are just bad with it. That's pretty much the same story with me. I really love these comments of pro players defending this camera.

Yeah, the camera in this game is pretty bad. It's an unfortunate reality of every SM64 hack I've ever played, really. -_-

I'm honestly really surprised at the difference in what me and raocow find hard in this game, though. Like, the desk level took me hoooouuuuurs and raocow did it in a couple tries, but I found the bee controls pretty easy after failing in the water part a billion times and only died once in the actual death-y part. (And raocow didn't fall in the water part nearly as many times as I did, for that matter.) It's kind of interesting.

For that matter, multiple people are citing the last star here as one of the worst in the game, which really confuses me because I accidentally went that way on another star and beat it on my first try. I'm wondering if raocow'll struggle with it. I'm p curious what gives it the reputation it has.

But you don't need to cross lava with it, that was my point.

There's a reason that camera control is a big part of mastering how to play SM64.
I think it would help raocow a lot if he zoomed the camera in in more confined areas, makes it much easier to see.

this was probably said somewhere before▸▸peach's castle was pretty cool for a hub because you can't really die easily✦ going betweens levels is just walking between rooms in a building⁛⁙ last impact kinda makes navigating between levels like playing a level itself with obstacles and bottomless pits:・ its kinda troublesome ☠

While i'm usually in doubt of raocow's spatial awareness, this level's corridors can be very cramped.

OH BY THE WAY, raocow, if you can, wait for a little while in the star selection screen in any of the courses, there's an easter egg if you wait long enough, you'll see!

Well, raocow just wandered straight into the boss battle that gave a lot of people trouble. Given how he seems to be struggling on different parts of the game than many other people, I'm curious whether he'll have as much trouble with it as everyone else.

Then again, I'm also curious how much its been fixed since the version of Last Impact I played. I know Kaze toned down a lot of things in future updates, and the spider boss was apparently nerfed in one of those, so...

For the first star I was literally screaming at the screen: "raocow, take the bee suit! This will make the whole platforming much easier!". Also this is the easiest star in beehive.

For red coins above lily pads you don't really need bee suit. Just jump onto lily pad and immediately jump again and press backward arrow.

And since raocow had huge problem with pole jumps, I'm looking forward for tomorrow spider suit segment.

I never had problems with the spider boss, and I played one of the older versions. Sure, it had janky hitboxes, but i mean it's this game, whatd'ya expect?
Hopefully the fight goes well for raocow tho.

Which is exactly why raocow had so much trouble getting it, lol. He's inexplicably awful at anything that should be easy and straightforward then will breeze through things that take the rest of us hours to do.

So, what really was the problem with the old version of the spider boss? Was it moving around too much to butt-slam?
