Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „[...]aber Roboter können nicht zaubern, gell?“
Question that's kinda insignificant to the LP: when you're saying "NOOOO" like at 7:05, is that in English or French?
I always assumed it was just "no" but just today I noticed it has the French inflection like "non" and it kinda makes sense since a lot of the swearing and whatnot when you're frustrated is in French

I have to say I don't really think of how I spell the words I say in a moment of emotion but yeah the more emotional I am, the more likely it is to be french

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „[...]aber Roboter können nicht zaubern, gell?“
A very helpful tip if bosses give you a hard time:
I also used Lustatem against Demon's Wall. It's weak to Klageharnisch but I can't seem to hit the core with it very well. I also try using Lilli at first to soften up the boss health.
I just shoot without trying to aim at the core because I'm too preoccupied dodging attacks and crosses while on those four blocks. Even if your aim is not at the core it still helps to shoot constantly, so that you don't get swarmed by the floating crosses. Also, it's recommended to wait until the green projectile splits into vertical shots before evading it. If you prematurely run away to the right it's just going to follow you and mess up your timing.
every stage from here on (and including this one) has a cross tank. If you need to stack up tanks you can do so in whichever stage you're in.

Things pick up the pace from here, don't worry.
Mikhail 1's Game Over Screen was correctly identified as ActRaiser right there in the video! I probably should have just come out and said so yesterday, but whatever. Here's today's, which I expect at least some people to know! (The HUD is the official EN version, which was slightly edited from the original JP version - the two versions are otherwise identical.)

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Jeder zweit sehr gerne.“
This death screen is Dragon's Lair.
Picopico glass was the only boss fight in the game that I actively disliked. It seemed, to me, to be a battle of memorization - learning where not to stand for each iteration of the boss, because otherwise you'd be hit with no chance to dodge. I at least hit on its weakness quickly (

Geister Wand
) but even then it took me several attempts. I didn't have enough stockpiled religion to tank it raocow-style.- Picochilla

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Jeder zweit sehr gerne.“
Good thing this Stage is over. It is actually one of the most boring there in this Game and then u have that Boss (called Poltergeist in the RKS Wiki) which is literally a hope and pray-thing to stand in the right Position not to get hit.
To raocows Video at 2:46 mark: I don't know right now if they fixed that on the Steam Version,
Can't wait for the next Video

but u didn't needed Zornesbombe on those Walls because u can simply Jump over them! XD
A very stupid oversight by them.
Can't wait for the next Video
because there will be one of the most favourite Bosses coming up

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Rutsch mir den Buckel runter, Sensenmann!“
"MY SCYTHE; I LIKE TO KEEP IT WHERE MY HEART USED TO BE."
Raimund "Thanatos" Seyfarth (/RYE-moont THA-na-tos say-FAHRT/)
A great and famous war hero of old, deceased as of four years ago only to be resurrected by Count Zeppelin to guard his keep. Wields both the Grollschwert and the Devil Scythe Grassense (/GRAHS-sen-seh/) in unison.
"PREPARE YOURSELF, SPIRITIA! I SHALL BESTOW UPON YOU A GLORIOUS DEATH!"
GOOD POINT: Persevering
BAD POINT: No indoor voice
LIKES: The thrill of battle
DISLIKES: Weaklings and cowards
Trivia:

Trivia:
- As was seen in today's video, sometimes the Grassense is spelled Glassense due to the usual L/R confusion. That, of course, renders it as the "Glass Scythe" which may or may not be more epic than "Grass Scythe".
- He shares his granddaughter's talk theme, "Dark Purple Moon" by Sky God Corridor, and is probably the only character to share a song with another in this game, period.
Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „"Deutsch ist ein gute sprechen mit mich“
Well, there is a pretty good degree of merit to being a Glass Cannon. That's somewhat similar, right?Joseph Staleknight wrote: ↑5 years ago [*]As was seen in today's video, sometimes the Grassense is spelled Glassense due to the usual L/R confusion. Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Rutsch mir den Buckel runter, Sensenmann!“
Today's video was a sneak preview of all the Castlevanias, right?
Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Rutsch mir den Buckel runter, Sensenmann!“
Your opinion might be unpopular, but it isn't alone. All the 'vanias would make for a good lp, I'd think.
Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Rutsch mir den Buckel runter, Sensenmann!“
The prevailing vibe I got is that things like Somavania are heavily based on the souls for entertainment value, and because getting them is total RNG, it would be boring.
I personally enjoyed SotN, but now I'm not too sure about the journey past that.
Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Rutsch mir den Buckel runter, Sensenmann!“
I can see the soul RNG being an issue. Though I would be interested in seeing raocow play through some of the other handheld 'vanias, like Circle of the Moon, or Order of Ecclesia.
Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Rutsch mir den Buckel runter, Sensenmann!“
Personally I think it'd be kinda hilarious to see raocow get one sort of okay soul and insist on using it for the entirety of the game rather than trying out new souls as he gets them.

This is probably my favorite boss in the game. It's sooo hard at first but the patterns are so much fun to dodge once you learn them and the fight remains intense and dangerous even then.

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Rutsch mir den Buckel runter, Sensenmann!“
The first half of this fight is very difficult to do even once you learn the pattern (the scythe's flight path is 100% fixed) because of how fast that fucker spins around and how easily it is for your brain to betray you into thinking the wrong thing. No shame in having your face mashed in repeatedly there.
It was truly physically painful, though, to watch you never figure out that shooting him in the second phase while he's just meandering around will block your shot and trigger a very speedy auto-counter from him. You got lucky that he decided to kill himself by jumping instead of continuing to sit there and parry your bullets.
Mikhail Stage 2's Game Over Screen was indeed Dragon's Lair! Kudos to Voltgloss for that one. Today's is below, and it holds the distinction of being the only actually useful Game Over screen, as it provides hints as to the boss's weaknesses (

Huh? He doesn't block your shot when he counterattacks. In fact I prefer him do that rather than switch to scythe-spinning which keeps me from shooting him for a while.Kilgamayan wrote: ↑5 years ago

behold, the power of trigonometric waves
Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Rutsch mir den Buckel runter, Sensenmann!“
Oh also, the usual way I handled the falling bridge part was by summoning Geisterwand and repeatedly reactivating it whenever it hits something as I go forward.
That weapon lets you beat Poltergeist almost automatically except for the large big glass cluster (maybe use the charged attack on that part). I don't know how you would handle that part without it.

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Rutsch mir den Buckel runter, Sensenmann!“
Dawn of Sorrow, yes, this is an issue (especially as that game ties improving your weapons to random soul drops). Aria of Sorrow, not so much. RNG drop souls are far less of an issue there. Indeed, it's perfectly viable to play through all of Aria with very limited soul usage (like relying only on whatever couple you happen to get with no grinding and/or whatever you settle on as "favorites"). Frankly, I've always felt Aria was MEANT to be played with very limited grinding for souls.
Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Rutsch mir den Buckel runter, Sensenmann!“
You also don't need to grind for Souls in Dawn. I never bothered upgrading weapons or grinding my first time through and was just fine with what I found, it simply makes bosses take longer, but they are well-designed and easily dodgeable (as opposed to this game, hurr hurr topical), so it doesn't really matter. I played Aria after Dawn and yes, it does comparatively SHOWER you with drops and is also easier, so I just Cruzed through it. If you do them chronologically, going into Dawn with Aria knowledge, it should therefore be just fine.
You know, hypothetically.
It always amused me that even in the original version of this, they at least got all the boss name references correct (I didn't know they were German game designers, but it's quite neat to realize), but they completely botched Zeppelin into Sepperin. Which is double weird because Graf Zeppelin was a real person and arguably much more famous in Germany than any of the other dudes - he invented the Hindenburg-style airships we named after him!
