How'd the original Hallow Knight get to become so tall?
Well, we've seen the before and and the after, thanks to the Path of Pain and that scene in the Abyss. Presumably, HK is just an adult.

I feel like I'm ripping off someone's thing, but I think Radiance deserves character notes.

The Radiance
Hunter's Journal wrote:

  • The plague, the infection, the madness that haunts the corpses of Hallownest... the light that screams out from the eyes of this dead Kingdom. What is the source? I suppose mere mortals like me will never understand.
The Light, the source of the infection, and in many ways considered the queen of dreams. Before Wyrm arrived in Hallownest and became the Pale King, giving bugs individuality and intelligence in the process, Radiance was the force that bound all insects together, in an animalistic, unified hive mind. To the moth tribe that "perhaps descended from her", she was a goddess, until they turned their back on her in favor of the Pale King, which the Seer describes as the sin of her people.

The Pale King made all insects to forget about her, destroyed everything he could with her image, and sealed her away by attempting to literally seal the memory of her from Hallownest itself. When memories of her resurfaced though, she began to exert her influence through dreams again, which resulted in the infection. This is what led Wyrm to create the Vessels in his last ditch effort to contain Radiance completely.

Unsurprisingly, she fights with Light itself, utilizing a variety of powerful energy-based attacks, and also conjures many blades.
Dream Nail Dialogue wrote:

  • ...I DO NOT FEAR YOU...
  • ...LET ME BE FREE...
  • ...I WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
  • ...DAWN WILL BREAK...
  • ...THE LIGHT CANNOT BE CONSUMED...
At the end of the battle, she's finally defeated when Knight fully taps into the power of the Void and works together with the Hollow Knight to strike a decisive finishing blow, blotting out her light forever.

Was that okay? How did I do?

yeah that's hollow knight not hornet at the end. hornet isn't a vessel like you two.

i'm not a fan of having to refight hollow knight every time you lose to radiance either especially as they're a double-damage boss, but EHH they're not that hard

and yeah this is the last really exciting video of the entire LP tbh sorry rao

So, so fun fact: that statue at Hallownest's Crown that you got the Pale Ore from is a statue of The Radiance, and if you dream nail it, it says "Remember... light..." It's a neat bit of foreshadowing.

Yeah, I kind of wish he had saved this fight for the actual end of the LP, but oh well. I'm sure parts of Godmaster will be interesting to watch, though.

At least we have the Nightmare King Grimm fight to look forward to.

Even if that thing in Godmaster that everyone is afraid of ends up being something raocow doesn't want to do, there's still a lot of new stuff before it.

Basically everything, actually. That last pantheon doesn't even count towards completion %, so at the very least, I'm sure raocow will complete the Godmaster from the game's perspective. And I'll have a save with Absolute Radiance unlocked if necessary.

There is plenty interesting stuff in Godmaster to come. You guys really don't need to worry so much.

Huh... I'm surprised at how little of the plot I actually knew about despite having completed the game already. It's a lot more interesting than I thought. I guess I'm not too good at interpreting these kind of cryptic dialog hints because I was pretty thorough in getting all the NPC/dream dialog but most of it just flew over my head and I wasn't able to put all the pieces together like this.

I know the YouTube commenters noticed, but in the background of the White Defender fight we have the Pale King and his other four Knights (spoiled for lore):
  • First, there's Ze'mer, who became the Grey Mourner after she got forcibly separated from her lover, the Traitor's Child.
  • Next is Dryya, who guarded the Queen and her Gardens with all her might. Originally, she was going to be a boss character, fighting our Knight in a one-on-one duel, though for some reason she ended up losing her place to the Traitor Lord. (She's also the one knight whose fate I keep forgetting about--initially, I assumed she disappeared without a trace and nobody knew what happened to her.)
  • Then there's Isma, The Defender/Ogrim's possible lover, who got fossilized sometime during the early stages of the Infection. Her Tear was what helped you swim in acid, so I imagine she once had that ability as well.
  • And off to the far right is Hegemol, the knight whose appearance guards the City of Tears. It's a shame some lowly maggot stole his armor when he was least suspecting it.

Edit: Oh, I completely forgot that raocow got another mask. Updated Grimm file is attached.

Loyal Ogrim, the Defender
Hunter's Journal wrote:
  • Figure from a fondly remembered past. Reacts gallantly to defeat by becoming stronger.
  • "The Champion's Call, the Knotted Grove, the Battle of the Blackwyrm... I remember it all. I will carry those glories with me always... until we meet again." - Ogrim of the Five Knights
Dream Nail Dialogue wrote:
  • Hegemol... I miss your humour...
  • Ze'mer... I miss your stories...
  • Dryya... I miss your wisdom...
  • Isma... I miss.. I miss you...
  • Your Majesty... Have faith in me!
Ogrim, one of the Five Great Knights who defended the kingdom. Details are short on all of the Knights, but we know the most about and get to interact the most with Ogrim. Known foremost for his incredible loyalty to his monarch and his comrades, both before and even long after his kingdom fell, Ogrim still stands tall, defending the Waterways as well as the grove of his lost love, fellow Knight Isma.

He was considered to be quite eccentric among some members of Hallownest for his obsession with, well, dung (notably, Nailmaster Sheo seems less than fond of him), but his comrades seem to take it in stride, or maybe even as a charming quirk.

Wearing the Defender's Crest he gives you lets you access special dialogue with quite a few NPC's, including the White Lady who mistakenly assumes Ogrim is with you:
White Lady wrote:...That scent. Does another travel with you? Is that you Ogrim, my mighty Knight?

I cannot see you, but then time has clouded my eyes and I cannot see much. Even your booming voice falls silent upon me.

Only this small one I register, if maybe because it shares some piece of myself. This one stands clear upon a misted world.

Ah.... But my my, that potent smell does recall such joyous memory. Only a short moment we had together, compared to ruin now endured, but what shining times they were.

I am grateful you would visit, even if to see me in somewhat faded form.

Dear Ogrim, I'm sure you saw Dryya on the way in? She's stood guard over me for so long.

Despite her hard front, she's always been a caring type. I'm sure she'll much enjoy a Knights' reunion.
Ogrim has dialogue that can be seen when he's awake after the first battle, but less likely to have been seen, is the dialogue he has after fighting the White Defender multiple times (each successive battle with White Defender makes him more powerful):
  • My friends... I will protect our dear Kingdom. Have faith in me!
We will all meet again. I promise it...
  • Second Defeat
My King... I believe in you. I believe in Hallownest! My devotion will never falter...
  • Third Defeat
My King... Hallownest will be reborn! Glorious and bright! Just as it always was...
  • Fourth Defeat
My King... We will all be together once more...
  • Fifth Defeat
How funny that I see you in my dreams too, little one. Your noble bearing reminds me of our dear King. When he returns, I'll ask him if you can become a Knight! What jolly adventures we will have...
He battles by diving underground, and attacking with..."mud".

As we've already seen the live death of Ze'mer (Grey Mourner) and the corpse of every other Knight, we know that Ogrim is the last remaining Knight alive.

When I first found out about this White Defender boss I was perplexed as to how anyone could ever possibly find it without being told about it outside of the game. As far as I know, the only in-game hint (if you can call it that), is that

you'll eventually face that boss in the Godhome challenges, and when you do you have to make the connection that it's a boss refight that you can find in the normal game's content

, and from there you might think to look around in the Dung Defender's boss arena. But still even then, it's not EXACTLY hidden at the place where you fought the boss, but just to the right of it where the water switch is. This is easily the most stupidly hidden thing in the game.

Strange to think we're now in the last area of the game (unless you count the small super secret area in the Resting Grounds).

I'm curious to see if

raocow actually decides to do all the Godhome stuff, the first 4 pantheons are a bit boring but aren't too long and are probably worth doing in the LP for their new bosses, but the Pantheon of Hallownest is just plain annoying and really not suited to lp format I think

Ah I mistook that little thing to his right as maybe being his horn, but I guess not if it's there while his body is. I guess there's certain conditions and/or a glitch then.

I recommend entering the first door upon entering Godhome first thing next episode

to get what Godmaster is really about. Or the two next to it, but you should do the first one first.

. Or go fight NKG (it's available in the hall of gods).

The hall of gods's ascended difficulty deals double damage (things that normally do 2 will do 4) and more health. For some of the easier bosses, it's also made harder in an additional way. The radiant difficulty is identical to ascended except they instakill.

I'd be up for watching you do the ascended bosses (screw Radiant though seriously), I wouldn't worry too much if it's 'good for the LP', if you're having a good time there's a good chance people watching will have a good time, and one of the things you love so much about Hollow Knight is the bosses anyway, this gives you some fun harder versions to throw your face at.

I dunno, I'd rather just watch you take on

Absolute Radiance and the Eternal Ordeal

and just generally finish up the LP. It's been going on long enough already, so I feel like I'd not be as interested in watching you go through all the bosses all over again.

Also,
I did do the first pantheon on my own playthrough, and boy do those binding really up the challenge. I chose just the Charm binding and only got as far as Brooding Mawlek, but cleared it without any. I feel like if raocow were to do the Pantheon challenges, no bindings would be the most entertaining way to watch.

Also, I still call dibs on the RKS thread.

Yeah. Godmaster is hot garbage.
Like, the incentive wasn't met in the campaign. This shouldn't even be in the game, and yet it is.
Yes, there's some cool new bosses. Yet, less is more rings true. So, so true.
