Good work on the Watcher Knights. A major step was definitely done! But you shouldn't be afraid of progress, there's still a good amount of stuff to do!

Excellent premonition on what's gonna happen at the start of next episode

Should we encourage him to go for Ending 1 before completing the Void Heart? I feel like raoman's style might be to 100% everything before going for the final boss, which might or might not be the best. Well, I guess he's already strong enough that HK will feel pretty easy...

It's actually possible to permanently kill one of the Watcher Knights by breaking open a hidden passage in the ceiling to the left of the arena, and then breaking the chain of the first chandelier, dropping it on one of the knights. Needless to say, the fight is way easier when you only need to deal with five of them.

That being said, it's pretty incredible that you managed to beat them without too much difficulty. The Watcher Knights are considered by many to be one of the hardest bosses in the game.

I want to see how naturally he'd get to one or the other. I think that he'll likely end up going toward the Void Heart first regardless...but one of my complaints with this game is how hollow the first two endings feel (pun acknowledged but unintended).

I go back and forth on how I feel about the Watcher Knights, and part of that is because sometimes I can fight them near flawlessly and other times they wreck me worse than most other bosses do. Honestly, the variance/inconsistency in my skill is more impressive to me than it should be. But they are "the boss" before the Watcher here, just as the Beast's Den itself is "the boss" before the Beast.

Fun fact:

The Watcher's Spire can be done without the Monarch Wings. You are required to have either the Longnail or Mark of Pride, but you can bounce off of one of the lamps and get up instead of needing the double jump.

The Watcher Knights are a strange boss, each individual one isn't that hard but they've got so much health between them all and there's so little opportunity to heal.

I think Ending 1 being miss-able should probably be mentioned eventually but there's no reason to say anything until he has the Kingsoul, and it'll quite a while before that happens.

The watcher knight fight suuuucks and on my replay was the only fight in the main game I struggled with

It's just

The same boss 5-6 times

The arena is too large and they love to snipe you from off screen

It's rare to find a chance to heal

I ended up just coming back later and dealing with them once I had done basically everything else and was way OP for fighting them lol

Watcher knights pressuring you and having complex patterns as a result of both acting at once is why they're cool and fun. just my imo

My personal strat for beating those guys was essentially the Stalwart Baldur Shell combo, mostly because I found little time to heal between waves and wanted a safety net for then.

Anyway, I get the feeling raocow might end up getting lost again and going towards the last dreamer next video. In which case, I better hurry up and finish all my prep-work for claiming the RKS LP thread.

I mean you can "beat" this game having seen like less than half of its content lol, I don't expect this LP to end for a good while yet even with the longer video lengths the series has tended to have

IIRC when Pink streamed it, she did the regular final boss, then the true final boss back to back. That seemed to work fine, though doing the regular boss, then a cleanup, then the true final boss might work better for raocow.

Hey rao, can you try that Flukewyrm charm you got a while back. I want to see what it looks like in combat.

faffing about is the true hollow knight experience, tbh

the moss prophet you found around the 12:30 mark used to be an NPC you could interact with, but after a certain point, well, what you see there happens to them :(

i'm going to note that raocow has yet to return to the crossroads since he killed his first dreamer, which is... interesting

raocow, if it helps, you could spend a few minutes off camera to look over your full map and find a few places to check out next time before you start. though, stuff happening in whatever order it feels like happening is fine too :P

Poor Bretta, perpetually ignored. I wish he would get her just to unlock GPZ, now that will be fun.

I guess you didn't see the 'inspect' popping up when you were at the infected moss things? But yeah, that would've been a npc who I think sings (and a couple enemies) had you been earlier but

fighting the Broken Vessel

resulted in that.

Looks like Galien proved no match for raocow's world-destroying skills. Which is quite something since he's not even the one with the simplest dream boss fight. Still, it's a good thing there was some armor fluid in case he proved troublesome!

Is it worth it to return to the original starting point of the game at all, above Dirtmouth?

If nothing else he could go buy the fragile charms unless there's something more worthwhile to spend his 4000+ money on.

So, will the game end with raocow destroying the world, and everything inside?

I know he had no reason to know about this, but seeing him decide to not go towards the area where the King's Brand is in Kingdom's Edge after discovering the door that it opens killed me on a spiritual level.
