Congrats on beating your first dream boss, raocow!
It's a very good thing that dying to one of them will simply put you back near where you encountered them without breaking your Soul meter, since they're all gonna be harder than their original versions. Considering they're the ideal selves they dreamed of being, though, it only makes sense.

It was interesting to see spacecow do so much of the game without the double jump, but it really was time for him to stop being gimped and actually have it.

Double jump is all the way at the bottom of the world?
Makes sense.

Double jump actually refreshes any time you touch a surface, whether it's a wall that you can jump off of or something you've bounced off of with your nail. And if you cancel the super-dash in midair, you can immediately double jump afterward. It gets really silly.

I love this fight.
There are a lot of people who complain about the adds, but I think they make it a lot more interesting. raocow definitely didn't have as much of a hard time with them, multiple times after a stun he would wait to kill one before healing or just not heal at all because he realized it wasn't safe, which most people don't recognize well. Good keeping track of their spawning on top of fighting the boss.

I mean, the real strat for this fight is the Defender's Crest, since it kills the little blob things instantly so you don't need to worry about them.

Wow, a woppong 400 dream puffs were awarded for that fight. That lady only wanted 200. After you finish up down below, I think I know where you should go next.

What do those dream puffs do again? I know they're used in the area next to the graveyard by that one shopkeeper but I have no idea what they would be used for upgrading at this point.

We'll see some of what they do whenever raocow gets around to returning there.

She has a wide range of rewards. Includes a pale ore, a charm, a quality-of-life portal ability, and something required for the true ending.

Yeah, essence is super important and there's a lot of it in the game. It might not be a bad idea to go to some of those warrior's graves marked on the map and fight more dream ghosts. It's been a while since he bought the pins for that.

For those interested in DLC, the Hidden Station raocow found today was not originally in the game but was, instead, added in the first DLC, probably as a quality of life sort of update.
Because of this, it was briefly possible to access the Stag Nest station (something supposed to be locked behind all of the other stations) with all but one station. Since this obviously wasn't intended, it was fixed in a later dlc.

Got more essence, that's what you did!
Actually the game gives you *way* enough that you'll never need to kill individual ghosts like that.

On dream-nailing ghosts: You actually
can nail away everyone in the Spirit's Glade, but it'll be hard not only because of the large number of ghosts but also because the guardian (whose name is Revek) will react pretty much how he did.
If you manage to kill everyone, Revek will suddenly get amnesia and wonder what the heck he's doing in the glade, making him vulnerable to the d-nail as well.
Also, now I want to see Songstress Marissa cosplaying as Marisa Kirisame.

A very different low key type of episode today, it's cool to get a brief break after the intense fights. The Glade is a nice little area. I think I dream nailed Marissa too and felt bad about it, though I spent a while just listening to her sing beforehand.
Also there's actually a secret thing about the Glade that I'd bet a bunch of people who've finished the game don't know (I didn't until literally 30 min ago when I went to explore after the video),
in the room behind the waterfall, there's a hidden alcove up to the left. If you jump up there and dream nail the statue it takes you to a secret area
.

fwiw all ghosts you can actually fight for meaningful amounts of soul can be fought by just talking to them, so there's no reason to dream nail ghosts ever and you don't have to worry about "is this one a fight or not, should I hit it"

Seeing how lost and distracted raocow has became in this game, I've imagined what his experience would be like playing Breath of the Wild.
It would probably take him a couple years.

He's not really
lost, he just spent today investigating some things that mostly just serve a lore purpose.
And the Palace Grounds will become extremely important later, as rao will find out if he happens to continue upgrading his Dream Nail.

okay let's have a spoiler-y vote, place your bets
1. raocow won't kill the nailsmith
2. raocow will accidentally kill the nailsmith and feel really bad about it
3. raocow will intentionally kill the nailsmith and still feel really bad about it
frustrated seeing raocow casually jump right over the hole in ancient basin he's never actually been down into

I think rao will kill the nailsmith with a spell just to see if he can do that, and then feel really bad about it.

After today's events, I really hope that raocow doesn't run into Menderbug again...
Makes me wonder how he'll react if he goes to see Myla again, too...
What a tragic game :C
