Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
I got the Nail and Soul bindings for this pantheon without too much trouble (I did them together, even), but Shell and Charm were giving me a lot of problems.
Then I got them in one try each after watching this video.
Thanks for making this, it was apparently the push I needed to give it another try.

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
i genuinely think, save for a few of the tweaks and a few of the added bosses, the majority of the DLC has only made the game worse
zote, white defender, hive knight are all cool bosses it's nice to have (white defender is hidden in a dumb way though), the extra stag station is cool, some of the added charms are nice to have
the entire grimm troupe DLC is pretty disappointing overall, the first grimm boss is about the only thing worthwhile from it, and godhome basically adds nothing new except a few solid boss fights that probably should've just been in the main game in the first place, wrapped up in a grueling and unfun package

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
Looks like Zote isn't a joke anymore.
You often get cheap-shotted by bosses that jump up into you. Best... not to put yourself above them.

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
yeah i agree with the above, you seem to like pogoing off bosses a lot and for the bosses who jump a lot that's not really a great idea

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
Gonna post some nagging backseat advice here that I highly advise you reading, but putting in spoilers just in case you'd rather not see any of that stuff.
Use your nail arts more! Seriously... you'd be surprised how easy all of the non-Zote-tier bosses are when you keep in mind the option of doing fewer but harder hitting slashes. Think about what the boss's attack pattern is and if there's a window of safe opportunity to get in a charged hit in between their attacks. In that case maybe consider going with with a more conservative strategy with charged slashes at each safe opportunity rather than trying to maximize your DPS and relying on Melody and healing to just get you through it. I mean surely you've beaten quite a few Megaman X series bosses with that sort of approach, so you most likely understand how useful that approach can be for certain boss patterns right?

Reading the description and skimming through today's video, I would say maybe one more session and if you don't feel like you made progress, throw in the towel.
And I mean literally record a towel thrown in

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
Oof, I've been having trouble with the bindings but I haven't gotten that upset about it. Then again, I don't have LP pressure to try and work on it every day, that might well make me a lot crankier.
At least you got one step closer! If you're not ready to give up/take a break yet, then I'd suggest giving Pantheon 1 without charms another shot. However, make sure you practice the last fight charmless for a while before doing that, because the actual run takes a while (my winning run went past 20 minutes) and so failing would probably hit you hard. But if you've got the last fight down, the rest is pretty manageable.
Edit: posted this before seeing the second video.
Well, at least you made it. Probably would have been good to practice them more first, though?

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
aaaaaaaaaah the epic comeback! this is so exciting to watch lmao.
honestly, you probably won't have any trouble with getting up to where you were in the final pantheon again, now that you can take off your "weighted clothing" aka bindings and you'll be fighting at full power from here on. just keep a cool head and you should be able to get to Nightmare Grimm on every attempt now.

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
You've got this raocow, I know you do. Nightmare King never stops being brutal, but once you get past him, I'm sure you're in there.
Fun fact that I forgot to draw attention to days ago:
Unlike the other Pantheons, which display the word "Challenge" when you approach them, Hallowest displays the word "Ascend".

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Thank you, Melody
Wow, totally watched those videos in opposite order. Anyone else run into that?
Man, cowrao, you're seriously determined. I really hope it doesn't burn you out, but you've got some serious drive. Give it your best, we'll all be cheering for you :3

Good idea to practice those trouble bosses, before your next marathon.

Hey raocow, did you ever reset your youtube times after daylight savings? I am from across the world and everything is still uploaded an hour later here.

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
Well shoot. Maybe our countries are just permanently out of sync now. Oh well.
Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
Are you in a country that doesn't have Daylight Savings? Because I spent a year in China recently and for half the year things were just an hour earlier.
Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
Good job with everything so far! You're even using the charged dash attack a little more often. Though with how awkward it is to perform, I'm not sure I would use it much myself.
Could someone dump a current damage chart again? Since rao's been wondering what does more damage. I've been curious for a while, myself. Also include those rocks that fall down.

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings
That's right. It's just that the last time I remember this happening, it only took a few days before things defaulted to normal. Probably just different circumstances then.
