Rabi-Ribi - Dolphin Room
Re: Rabi-Ribi - Self Shooter
I don't think raocow has EVER done a custom thumbnail, on any video ever.

Re: Rabi-Ribi - You Got New Experiment!
Yep. Youtube likes moments where nothing is moving, so the still image is the most clear. The interesting boss fights have tons of moving parts, so they're not gonna generally be offered when there are relatively stationary moments available.

Man, I love the song that plays when you fight your illusion self. It's so freaking good!!

Hah, I forgot that's when you got the Bunny Amulet. I thought it was gonna be something else that's a tad more useful.

You are telling me that an item that can make you immune for a little while, give extra SP, deal damage across the whole screen to all enemies,Stink Terios wrote: ↑6 years ago Hah, I forgot that's when you got the Bunny Amulet. I thought it was gonna be something else that's a tad more useful.
reset Super Carrot and Bunny Strike
, mini-stun enemies, cancel food usage and has charges that regenerate after a short while...isn't that useful?Re: Rabi-Ribi - Self Shooter
So is the teleport function only plot related? Or can you warp back to the stele at anytime?

Re: Rabi-Ribi - Self Shooter
Plot related. Though there are enough warpstones around so there wouldn't really be a need for this function.

Why don't you eat me?
I am perfectly tasty...

Re: Rabi-Ribi - Self Shooter
Is it weird that if you told me raocow voiced Vector I would believe it?
Also on topic, way to figure out how to get that powerup and then not get the powerup.

Re: Rabi-Ribi - Self Shooter
It lets them warp back to the Stele from the other world, not from anywhere. It's confusingly phrased.

Man, watching that entire sequence end in not bothering to go back to get the powerup was painful. Particularly given what the powerup was. :(

And there we go, now the game is blown wide open and you can just stumble into anywhere and get something worthwhile.

Re: Rabi-Ribi - Endymion
I wouldn't feel too bad about that, when I first played I went down there, didn't figure out you can just break the blocks (I just assumed you'd get some kind of stickybomb upgrade or somesuch) and just did everything else I could in the game for a bit. (Dunno if it was 11 hours worth though )Parama wrote: ↑6 years agoit turns out i, a person with like 11+ hours into the game, have also not gotten this powerupKilgamayan wrote: ↑6 years ago Man, watching that entire sequence end in not bothering to go back to get the powerup was painful. Re: Rabi-Ribi - Endymion
It's understandable to assume you can't break those blocks the first time you enter the room, but in order to progress any further, you have to be able to destroy the block wall to the right in the watery tunnel below, and the only way to do that is with the hammer. The game is specifically designed so that players will get to the watery tunnel block wall and either (a) not figure out how to destroy it but be unable to backtrack very far and so therefore eventually conclude the item in question must help get past the block wall, or (b) spam various hammer attacks enough that some of them actually do destroy the watery tunnel block wall, realize "hey, the hammer destroyed these blocks, so maybe it'll work on other blocks", and then double-check the item room again.
Maybe I just have a different thought process for this sort of thing.

Re: Rabi-Ribi - Endymion
i mean you destroy the blocks and then continue moving away from the powerup and then forget about it later because there are so few places where the game asks you to destroy blocks like that

Re: Rabi-Ribi - Endymion
In this game items appear on the map after you collect them. so that means if you see a colored dot on the map that means an item isn't there!
Re: Rabi-Ribi - Endymion
That 'sun attack' you couldn't figure out, you just jump. If you notice, the rings of fire change colour slightly when you jump, it's safe to go through them at that point. You even do it a couple times.
Re: Rabi-Ribi - Endymion
That seems incredibly counterproductive.strongbadman wrote: ↑6 years agoIn this game items appear on the map after you collect them. so that means if you see a colored dot on the map that means an item isn't there!

Yeah, how the heck are you supposed to tell a square with something undiscovered from a square with nothing in it at all?

Re: Rabi-Ribi - Endymion
Well, I guess it's technically better than nothing since it at least tells you where not to bother looking. Still the exact opposite of an actually helpful mechanic though. If the devs were going to add a mechanic like this to the game it'd make far more sense to mark uncollected things instead.
