In the original reveal trailer for Specter of Torment, it was known as the Death Claw.

Caught up on the first three episodes last night. I think I like this expansion more than the original Shovel Knight, but there are a couple of things that bring it down. The sticking to walls deal will drive you nuts at times, and it definitely did in that tower climb game. So yeah, I'm enjoying watching this one.

The main difference between In the Halls of the Usurper, the version of King Knight's stage music that is used in both Shovel of Hope and Plague of Shadows, and In the Halls of the King, the version that we heard in this episode, is that In the Halls of the King is played in a major key rather than a minor one.

Also, the curio that cow purchased at the end is very similar to a weapon from a game that we will be seeing on the C-side very soon...

Are you all quite excited for it?

When I played this I just assumed the color-changing knight's sidequest will only progress if you go to the level that he says he's going to, so I used his dialog as the suggested order to go through all the levels in. I guess it doesn't really matter though huh? As far as I can tell the only thing that happens if you go to the level that the guy is in, you'll see him in that level as an enemy, colored the same as he was in the hub.

Neat detail I've noticed. After Mole Knight was defeated, the volcano you can see from The Tower blew it's top. I wonder what other changes happen in the background, as you recruit more Knights.

I'm a couple episodes behind right now, but I'm having a lot of fun watching this series. You seem to be having a lot of fun with the game, and I love that wall run and jump thing this dude does. Shame I don't like Specter Knight himself much, but who cares when the game's so fun?

A shield weapon that rewards blindly charging into things headfirst? Fully expecting raocow to use that and only that for the rest of eternity.

Now up through the Mole Knight vid. I think that stage gives everybody issues because of those instantly disintegrating sand blocks. Pretty sure Pink had fits in that one, too. I know it was a stage I struggled with a lot.

Wow, those kickstarter people are sure getting a lot of mileage out of the 3 characters. You much did you have to donate to meat that threshold?

One thousand dollars.

Source for what the Director for a Day reward cost: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ya ... vel-knight

Update post related to what Director for a Day actually meant: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ya ... sts/715746

I actually didn't know Mr. Hat was a Kickstarter character, and I forgot about the Liquid Samurai.

yeah not a character goes to waste in this game's expansions, I think the only characters we havent seen reused is the guy who gave shovel knight health upgrades, and the bard.

Judgement rush is this game's speedrun weapon. this skill is basically teleport to enemy so if there's an enemy at the other side of an obstacle you can judgement rush to just skip it.

clearly black knight's color scheme and motif are actually based off his rhinoturtle's natural colors, not the other way around

Through Specter Knight's stage now. You can jump to break the ground near the ladder for that one area around five minutes in the vid, and that Skeletal Sentry move just tears the bigger bosses down in no time flat.
