raocow, it looks like you might have missed a treasure in that pearl locked area. There's that funky bit in the top right of the area and when you went up there, there was some sort of unique looking plant that you didn't seem to notice.
Sebby19 wrote: 6 years agoLooks like the two health upgrades you missed were in the Kelp Forest. And it looks like you could have gotten them pretty early on, if you bothered to explore properly. Unfortunately, I think you were in you 'gun straight in a direction, and don't look back' mode. Reminds me of Symphony of the Night, when you when straight passed the first three saves rooms, and you never knew.
That's a bad tendency of yours, in a metroidvania.
Who would've guessed not exploring carefully would come back to bite you in a game focused around exploring entire environments, lol.

So that memory is when Naija first met Li, when they were both younger. You can see she is a lot shorter. I'm assuming Li has been looking for her ever since.

I believe that today's lost memory is the first one you actually found on your own. I'm assuming the actual first memory was waaaay back near the beginning, where the Attack form was first shown and demoed, before you actually got the thing.
I think I read somewhere you need all the memories to get the best ending, but I don't know how many there are...

From what I understand, the "best" ending is actually the worst one. Though it's mainly because it sets up a sequel that will never be made.

Oh my gosh raocow.

YOU HAVE A SHIELD TO REFECT STUFF! Even then, those big round, red, slow moving projectiles were just screaming to get reflected.
You are not treating this like a video game.

I guess that would have been important to show.

Reading the comments, looks like you can pick up the bombs, and place them where the boss drops down.

Still, a bunch of useful healing, wasted.

I think Li's 'attack mode' got turned off. You need to sing his song next time he is on screen.

raocow, don't you think it'd be a bit better an idea to actually use your light pet so you're not totally blind outside sun form seeing as combat pets are utterly useless when you actively avoid any and all combat? You seem to have totally forgot it even exists.

Nah, just too lazy to switch.

Maybe that song you found is in the incorrect order, and you have to listen to the 'mum' for the correct order.

I've personally forgotten the solution to that particular puzzle, but it was one I had to actually look up.

But I don't have the chops for audio puzzles almost all of the time.

But not too lazy to swim into every obstacle possible and then spend a bunch of time making healing items.

raocow: Try Ctrl + Shift + Esc next time (or maybe even Ctrl + Esc); that might work.

And now we have the boss that's definitely "this is why you use the keyboard controls". Still you healthtanked the boss, again :V

Enjoy one of the best treasures in the game.

I dunno, the green blood cells don't seem terribly realistic either. I don't remember mine shooting projectiles like that.

Hey raocow, I think your current armor DOES still effect you in your other forms (it kicks in when you're below 50%). The only reason you died is because you didn't take the poison seriously.

raocow's reaction to the final form was pretty fantastic, to be honest.

I am going to come clean.

I haven't really been watching this series as of late, even at double speed.

Aquaria bored the heck out of me on the whole.

I'm kinda curious what happens if you raocow into the spikes in the epilogue and game over. Do you have to repeat the entire final boss plus rest of the ending?

I enjoyed this, and thankfully raocow picked up on puzzle solutions a lot faster than would be expected/raocow'd through some of them which can really stymie progress for a while.

Was nice to revisit this game after about 10 years.
