Re: SMB4 SMW TSRP2R Zycloboo's Challenge v2.2 - The Mountain of Non-Diurnal Content
Zycloboo should really listen to his doctor about not sticking goal posts so far up his anus, just look what happened, that's not coming out now

Man, even years later Zycloboo continues to have a gigantic arsenal!

raocow didn't mention it in the video, but for people that didn't know: the final part of Starlight Road is a reference to Orbital Station from the first game (video) and the Pipeline Planet is in the top right corner of the map.

Re: SMB4 SMW TSRP2R Zycloboo's Challenge v2.2 - The Mountain of Non-Diurnal Content
I kinda prefer Zycloboo's butt in this game than the first game. Looked way too cloudy in the first one.
That being said ...
That being said ...
people who are coming into this blind are gonna be in for a huge surprise (raocow probably knows about it though).

I'm genuinely amused how both versions are pretty blatant about you entering Zycloboo through his butt. I just can't stop giggling about it.

Re: SMB4 SMW TSRP2R Zycloboo's Challenge v2.2 - Legless Spherical Cycloptic Ghost
Man, if Luigi was able to vacuum up all of Zycloboo's ghosts (some people argue that King Boo is a better villain than the one-eyed ghost) ...
Also, as for Marty's portal, (VERY big spoiler here)

there's more to it than that area (you could've accessed it at that point too), but a certain line by a certain mole will hint you on where to go. You have to be small though.

I don't like that mole for ripping my one catchword off. Nope.
Anyway, today's two levels took you a combined forty minutes to beat in your original savestate-filled playthrough. Your reaction when you found out how Goomba Quest #2 ends was priceless. The first Goomba Quest level took you almost forty minutes alone and was a despair-filled mess. Yeah, it's been said before, but you're way better at these games now.

I hope that raocow won't fall victim to the "one more level" syndrome next time.
Re: SMB4 SMW TSRP2R Zycloboo's Challenge v2.2 - catgoom kingdom catgoom kingdom
Catgoom Kingdom is pretty awful.
All of the previous issues seem to be piling themselves on more and more as it goes on.

Well, Happy said that the road that pressing the switch allows you to go to (springboard room) should be best observed with open eyes, suggesting that there's more to it.

I forgot how maze-y the post-game of TSRP2 got. Or, well, I remembered the Goomba's Quest levels being pretty bad about that. Not so much this other stuff, though.

Mistaking a Catgoom Goomba for an NPC was pretty priceless.

Gave me the best laugh I'd had all day. It was even better since I saw it coming with the way raocow was acting right before it happened, lol.

So, two more episodes, then?

There are about 4 levels left and the final battle.
Two of these levels
are in Marty's portal. The first of the Marty levels is VERY tedious in my opinion.
I'd say about 3-4 episodes left.

I was hoping that hotel horror wouldn't be a nightmare in the new and improved tsrp2r but I think it somehow got worse

Good, I expected nothing less.
Re: SMB4 SMW TSRP2R Zycloboo's Challenge v2.2 - catgoom kingdom catgoom kingdom
The text really does ruin the flow of things sometimes, although that mole constantly saying yep is winning me over. This remake keeps making me scratch my head in spots. It's still TSRP2, but it's not always been remastered for the better here.

Re: SMB4 SMW TSRP2R Zycloboo's Challenge v2.2 - catgoom kingdom catgoom kingdom
I distinctly remember thinking something similar at points the first time I played the hack, but if you play the original after the remake, it becomes clear that the overwhelming majority of the changes were in fact for the better. It's just that your brain fools you in to remembering the subtler as already being there in the original even though they weren't, and forgetting that most of the more glaring (non-writing-related) faults were already there to begin with; we were just more likely to forgive them in their original historical context. Now, arguing that a remake of this sort perhaps should have fixed some of those (especially the purely visual ones, considering the breadth of the graphical overhaul to begin with) is a legitimate criticism, though I wouldn't say that the changes that were made make the game worse vis-à-vis the orignal.
...Well, maybe I might suggest something sort of along those lines tomorrow, but more on that then.

Re: SMB4 SMW TSRP2R Zycloboo's Challenge v2.2 - horreur de l'hôtel
A level that's just a maze of mostly empty rooms and a few random undodgeable enemies that will kill you if you don't farm coins and also there's a time limit that will kill you the first time cause you're going to be checking all the rooms to figured out which ones aren't useless.
TSRP2 or YUMP? You decide!

Re: SMB4 SMW TSRP2R Zycloboo's Challenge v2.2 - horreur de l'hôtel
A level built around exploring punishes you for exploring. Oof.
It would actually be neat if the time limit was removed, because the atmosphere is otherwise rather interesting.
