So is the next game on the B-side list what's actually happening next, with no sudden insert?

I would like to confirm since I'm interested in hosting the thread

Oh, this is awkward. I was thinking about hosting since the Patreon vote... my plan was to do a guide like Soldexus and Iji.
But since I've had my fill of large guides, the plan was to just explain the properties of the game's special moves, as Rao gets them.

I mean, at the end of the day (or first thing in the morning), it's first come first serve. :?

I might insert something quick because it's going to go from big game to big game, and I still don't know if I'm ready for what's officially next.

He already LP'd Spelunker, actually. And I'd say it was a really successful run!

I can't tell if this is a joke or if you don't know what Spelunker is

Woops, got confused with Spelunky

I actually have Spelunker on my Wii U. Only because I played a Java fangame that was inspired by it, and enjoyed it there.

I couldn't help but notice Super Wakana Land on the A-side list. I'm pretty sure that game isn't safe for work. :demo:

Wakana added a Pure Version of the hack so that it will be safe to watch and play as an LP

So, has there already been any talk about the planned SM64 hack? Personally I'd still recommend checking out the Star Revenge series. 'v'
The newest game, Vacation of Cursed Dreams, is really good! Instead of having a classic Overworld like most hacks this game's levels are interconnected, kinda like in Banjo Tooie. It also looks absolutely gorgeous, easily the prettiest Mario 64 hack out there.
Here's a little preview in case you wanna see what it looks like:

I would recommend that as well

but the difficulty curve could be too much for raocow especially for the 2D segments of the rom hack

raocow, didn't you say before Wario Land that something just came out that wasn't on the list and you were going to play it after Wario Land? what was that? because we seem to just be continuing on the list with Bros.

EDIT: Oh I guess it's VIP 5

I just hope DT3: Epilogue doesn't take too long. That ending left a bad taste in my mouth :|

I think the epilogue is worth watching even if you did not like how the story ended, at least for an episode or two to see what it involves.

The new content includes a new true ending that replaces the old one.

Regardless, I think that game series has gone on long enough.

I could understand people not being too keen on the ending. I personally thought that it was powerful in its own way, making me reminiscent of the Megaman Zero 4 ending that raocow showcased last year, but I still preferred and expected an epic and victorious ending.

But the plot criticism that really got to me, rather, was how the Abomination plot point ended up fizzling out. And I could see that: I thought the heroes would try to save the Abomination from the virus much like (anime movie spoiler)

how Madoka and her friends try to rescue Homura from her witch form in Madoka Rebellion movie

. Instead they just destroyed it, and the expectation that it will aid the heroes didn't materialize. So unless mercy killing counts as freeing it, that plotline just didn't happen.

I honestly didn't expect raocow to return to it - I saw it as raocow LPed it with the understanding that the game was completed at that point. But, he decided to play it, so.

Given that the first four games of the current B-side patapon batch (Rabi-Ribi, Hollow Knight, Celeste, RKS games) are all going to be revisited, it looks like raocow returning to games for new content is a regular thing for him now.

My problem with that is that MMZ4 did a far better job executing its conclusion. There was always a sense of inevitability to Zero's end, dating all the way back to the original MMX. He was always running on some form of borrowed time or another. His final stand against Weil/Vile encapsulated all he stood for, and thus led to his necessary demise. That was not something you saw with DT3 at all. It felt very...slapdash, the way the creator just threw every single character you invested in under a bus for the sake of drama.

Okay, so I sort of get the latter three, (There are the RKS side games, "Farewell" (whenever that comes out...when I spoke to Lena Raine in the spring, she mentioned it was taking a while), and I'm assuming Hornet for Hollow Knight though that shouldn't count?). But what's there to revisit with Rabi-Ribi? Also, I thought the final Shovel Knight game would be among those listed.

A disclosure here. Shortly before this game was released, the original ending of the game was changed to a different outcome,

where Jerry and Jeremy create shields to escort Claire and Chao

to safety. While this may be a preferable outcome in theory, the way this ending was executed felt quite inconsistent within itself, and the creator was convinced to revert it back to the original version before the game was out.

I feel that the original, the one we have now, is relatively the better of the two, and ultimately

it became the foundation for this update, since this is now considered the normal end and the epilogue/good end partially builds up from that

.

raocow mentioned in the final video that there was DLC that he would return to in the future, and since then there has been some stuff added to my knowledge. I know there may be other games to return to, but just brought up the top 4 Patreon winners as a good example.

Both outcomes are still kind of crap though. I just don't trust the creator to do a good job of this.

Look, I was one of the testers for this game. We fleshed it out with this epilogue content and there's many people who played the updated version of the game and enjoyed the update (and the game in general).
