megaman sprite game is also like 1 hour long and requires zero grinding or exploration like undertale neutral which works because raocow isn't an rpg person.

i also suggest megaman sprite christmas (also an rpg), maybe tender caves of death if that ever comes out soon? not sure if samanthuel plans to make it too heavy on the rpgness or lighter and briskier like some indie rpgs

samanthuel is one of my fave content creators, she is a blessing and also likes gundam????

Fun Fact: Yellow Devil was actually supposed to have a Power Gear, but Wily couldn't afford the expense, so instead he settled for a Speed Gear.

I like this Devil's new attacks, but I don't like that they just have him do the traditional block shift as much as they do, or that it does so much damage. One hit is a quarter of your life bar! Probably a good place to use the damage-halving item, honestly; I found him to be the toughest part of the game.

For the record, his weakness is Blast Man's weapon.

Also there are places in this stage where Acid Barrier is really good because everything just fires projectiles at you.

it's a better yellow devil because all the new patterns allow you to do more damage to it with less waiting, and also the charge shot does pretty good damage per hit

the yellow devil block pattern is fun to dodge. that's fine, the problem is always that it takes too long to kill. you're still waiting for it to be hittable so it's not ideal really but it's ok here.

I really enjoy this fight. I'm also glad they called it the Yellow Devil Mk. III as a sequel to the one you fought all the way back in MM3. Its weakness is Chain Blast, but you're really only going to get some good hits in if you're in Power Gear mode while using it. It's not too terribly hard other than the surprise Speed Gear moves it pulls off once you get it past the initial desperation stage.

As for the level itself, I wound up using Blazing Torch to take out threats beneath me in that one like those cannons and didn't even think about the ground move since I figured it wasn't going to be strong enough. My mistake. I only played through this one once so far, so whoops, because it was fairly enjoyable. Did do some intentional Pile Driver air dashes though because some of those jumps are kind of tough!

Way to go just casually running through that stage with no issues. I also loved that accidental use of the pile driver that just worked out.

Me realising that the title gimmick is songs that came out in the year the game released. 🙃
In my defense I was only been paying half attention and I didn't read a good chunk of the titles, but I guess I was only familiar with songs from the 90s cause I thought it was all songs released in the 90s.

He can afford a new death castle in every game but couldn't budget for a couple of gears? Priorities.

Why do they keep bringing Devils back. I think this fight could have made the side-to-side block movements a tiny bit faster so to make it a little uncomfortably fast. Since it's the same pattern, people who memorized it can get through that boring segment quicker and people who don't can have a tense time juggling speed gear on and off.

This stage is ass from beginning to end and is the reason I put the game down for a while. At least the Yellow Devil is a reasonable fight with a semi-safe spot during the horde attack. Major kudos for getting through it all so easily!

A cute little touch that easily goes unnoticed in the heat of the battle: the Yellow Devil's cornea/iris/whatever-the-heck-I'm-not-an-anatomy-person is shaped like a gear.
