Hidden Grotto 🐾
This was the first level made for YUMP (excluding the levels that were made before it but not for YUMP). It was just kind of...made. The level was originally gonna have more growing pipes eating blocks before the author realized that the growing pipes immediately eat the blocks they would eat when they spawn.

The name was just a reference to the fact that the trees hide the holes and the author associates the word grotto with water for whatever reason. That's literally what they said I just copypasted it
Gotcha Haehaehae
This level was made by someone who isn't part of the jumphalf team. They caught wind of YUMP's development and decided to make a few levels and submitted them via QubicTom.

The message box can be hit by bringing the P-switch from later on in the level but it doesn't actually say anything.
FUCKMOUNTAIN
This was the second level made for YUMP and it took 15 minutes to make. The level name was something the author came up with on a whim, but it ended up being an unintentional reference to this. The level itself is a ripoff of HOW DOES MOLES from VLDC8, which in turn was a ripoff of Super Grand Ultra Marathon of Finalness from JUMP, which probably was a ripoff of something as well.

Someguy will now have to boycott this hack so no more moon counters I'm afraid.
icelavaforest
A bad edit of Forest of Illusion 3 made in 5 minutes. That's it.
The only notable thing is that all the noteblocks in the second part have powerups. This was not intentional, the author wanted to put bounce on all sides noteblocks but used the wrong ones. They made the level quickly and without testing and only noticed this after they submitted it, but they didn't fix it. Because that's the point of YUMP, low effort levels with unexpected results due to lack of testing. At least this mistake makes the level (too) easy.

This game is the like aristocrats joke but for SMW hacking.

I need to know if a sequel is ever happening for this game because I have some fantastic levels from a hack I made in 2008 (i.e. when I was 11). I saved the .ips file after all these years because it has sentimental value or something. Though I don't know if the joke could be carried on into a sequel.

The power-up note blocks WEREN'T intentional? I thought everyone was a mastermind who knew exactly how to best mimic poorly made levels with complete mastery

So what is the map music, anyway? It sounds familiar but I'm not animu enough to know it by name.

one thing that has surprised me as of now: no youtube claim for money even with all the vanilla music. hooray!

The fake kaizo vibe from GOTCHA felt like Kaizo Breaker from EVW, except that it does use legit kaizo-style traps at times, so you can't really trust the level to go either way.

I'm glad I can watch someone else play this because quite honestly after a glance amidst the C3 hype I really didn't want to go any further. Like I get that it's a joke but, honestly, I just didn't want to keep going. I mean, I have a really low tolerance for difficulty and even kaizo-lite stuff so it makes sense, but still.

I think between a bunch of the stuff I've seen recently I might be beginning to actually despise SMW hacks and hacking altogether anymore, so that might've played a part too. I dunno.

I don't know why people keep insisting this is a joke. Chaos Complexx is a joke. That it has one joke that it repeats over twenty levels. This hack is much more complicated.

I can never hear the music in your videos anymore, unless I use earphones. When I use the speakers, it's just your voice and the sound effects.

oops
The author simply wanted to make a puzzle level with as little effort as possible
YOUR MOM
An easier version of this level. Just like in the original, this level can easily be skipped by bringing a Yoshi. This level was made because LHB complained that there aren't any real YouTube levels in this ROM hack. This is easily one of most precise levels in this ROM hack, but also one of the shortest ones.

During beta testing, Pyro infamously said that "your mom isn't even that hard".
DANKAVE
A reference to two things: Firstly, to DARKAVE from Something Else, complete with secret area that raocow missed. The intro area is directly copied from Something Else and the secret area is recreated as well as possible under YUMP's vanilla restrictions.
Secondly, to this Trolden video where after the first Leeroy Jenkins (6 attack with charge), six other appear due to a combo. This is represented by both the gimmick and the music.
raocow do music loops of the overworld songs!!!!!!

Well, yes, the music in cave submap is not vanilla music, but rather Darude - Sandstorm.

(not really)

I was pleasantly surprised to hear a midi of Radio Gaga in a Mario hack.

and yeah the hack difficulty will start to pick up soon. The first real difficult level starts in World 3 imo.

that's the first "stupid difficult" level(s)

but in my opinion the later worlds have more fun difficulty

Anyway, I always thought DANKAVE was like a Noah's ARGH thing.
