I think if you flipped world 1 by 180º then the exits on the submap would roughly line up with the exits on the main map.

Ashan wrote: 6 years ago If I recall, the trick with Kaizo gates it to get the Chuck jumping beforehand, and once it does a jump, as long as you're in the air when it hits the ground, it'll be guaranteed to jump again. I might be misremembering the mechanics, but it seems the way you were trying to do it was watching the arms then jumping, which is way harder to do in real time.
Sometimes it is not possible to jump more than once to line up the chuck (such as autoscroll or a moving platform). Then, one must watch the arms of the chuck or just guess. I jump when the chuck reaches the peak of its low hop, and it works maybe 95% of the time.

Stoppen Pravas Castellum Delabatur
YUMP's Depraved Stronghold. The author made this level as a practice for making marathon levels. This level is basically the only time in YUMP where the switch palace blocks come in useful.

The name is badly translated Latin and means something along the lines of "stop making long depraved castles".

It might have been overdone but after the shellyump I expected a midpoint room with the actual goal directly after it.

verbose fort is honestly miles better than real Depraved imo. Every obstacle is fair, and it doesn't pretend to not be a level made only with small Mario in mind since it never gives you powerups or makes you feel like getting one
I would even argue it's a really good level... giving it a midpoint would ruin its point. It's not a gimmick level, it's a marathon of castle themed obstacles.
Also I cracked up at the shell jump at the end when I got there lol

e: also it's true that difficulty will be consistently high from there on but there's some levels in brwoser land that I really really dig. and one that I really really hate

You are so much better at these hacks than you were even just a few years ago. Knowing you don't do savestates unless in extremely stupid situations anymore is pretty impressive. That shell jump was a low blow that late in the level, yet you got it on your second try. That's nuts.

I really noticed this today as well. It seems like he had some kind of breakthrough at some point.

(and also this is why I think raocow should do a Vip4 reredo, cause he gave up partway through last time and he's done WAY harder stuff since)

Definitely looking forward to Otane translating VIP4, and raocow doing all Dragon Coins run (VIP4 is the first game in series that marked obtaining all Dragon Coins).

obligatory lifefarm
We needed a better life farm for end- and postgame. "obligatory" refers to how you have to beat this level to progress. The message about the save prompt is a lie - it only shows up the first time you beat it. You can easily go back to WORLD WAR 3 to save though.

The glitchy mega mole is a reference to this level. An interesting note about that VLDC level is that that mole was never actually placed there; it shows up due to some strange glitch.
forbidden fruit
The only dev commentary this level's author gave on this level was "i'm veryproud of that garden".

GAY SHT is one of those levels where bringing in powerups makes a significant difference.

From here on, I don't think powerups will help as much.
