I just wanted to say that I really, really liked that the placements of the levels were barely mentioned and not at all shown in the actual game. I feel like it's made both the LP and the discussion a lot more enjoyable and fun.

I know that it's not always going to be an option, especially for talkhaus contests where the placements and rankings are a big part of the experience, but maybe you could consider doing it again if you ever decide to play smaller contests like the Chocolate Level Design Contest or whatever.

The game itself was a lot of fun by the way! I think everyone who participated did a really good job!

I liked the base contest, but I wasn't much of a fan of 38-A at all. TIn particular, today's level once again made it clear that vision-obstructing gimmicks are the worst thing ever.

This level really wanted to be double-o-vision, but it wasn't even close. It really feels like the author should have had other people test their level more.

Man, raocow just tore through that first part. That was crazy fast.

In the second part (after the first midpoint), the view switched from light to dark on a timer, so as far as I'm aware you couldn't affect it, and you just had to wait.

Wow, what a mess.

There were a few neat phases of that boss, but the utter lack of a warning on phase switches was just unfair. And, of course, the fight as a whole went on for too long.

I can't say there was anything meaningful done with the gimmick in the actual level part, either. Being able to actually control it would have helped, but it still wouldn't have been especially good.

Props for the music choice for that boss, but uh... there's a reason "telegraphing" is is kind of a thing with me on discord. Sir Smiles for Miles needed a lot more of it.

raocow defeats the emoji movie

but no that boss pissed me off, way too long, only one extra hit the entire way through, lots of surprise gotcha moments, all in all a miserable experience

level itself was just completely janked too

veggie pile was better
i've honestly never played a video game in my life

Dreamy Somnom Woods and Antasma Battle from Mario & Luigi: Dream Team are the songs in this level.

When will someone invent a time machine so we can kill Andrew Spinks before he programs Rinkas into SMBX?

And the reason the Starman wasn't included was so people wouldn't abuse it. Well....

Gotta' say, SMBX always rubbed me the wrong way as a Mario enthusiast, but the underlying improvements made to the engine since raocow first started LPing SMBX episodes coupled with the sheer creativity of some of the people in the Mario community has really propelled its standing with me and made watching the LCJ a blast. Here's to more awesome SMBX improvements and projects down the road!

What exactly dictates which version of the world you see in today's level? At first I thought it was that the single dashed vertical bars would switch you and the double ones would show you the other version while you stand in them but then, as raocow demonstrated, you can also apparently manually change it yourself but in a seemingly inconsistent manner.

Trust me, there haven't been too many. A few, sure, but most of it is either content addition, or features made to facilitate said addition.

In the second part it happened on a timer, raocow just didn't stop trying to trigger it for long enough to notice it was changing automatically.
