Yep. Having to deal with copyrighted music (and whether or not it'll be flagged by ContentID) is a pain.

There should really be a rule against that in future collabs.

Not even just for the sake of YouTube claims, but could the collab as a whole not get a C&D for distributing licensed music for free?

Yeah, probably. Like I said earlier, I could've sworn that mediafire took down ASMBXT at one point because it triggered their copyright detection bot.

I mean we're already pretty lucky that Nintendo or the copyright holders of the video game music used don't seem to give a shit

At least ContentID mostly just restricts monetization of the video (unless you happen to live in a region where the rights holder decided to completely restrict viewing). I mean that still sucks for raocow since he actually makes a living doing this stuff now, but the video still exists and it's not a copyright strike.

Also
to anyone out there wondering what would be my editing strategy if I where to lp a iwbtg game, this is it.
I guess we aren't counting Wings of Vi as an IWBTG game?

skyscraper is still harder than the kid's zone imo, and for the same reason as here - it goes on too long and is too punishing for mistakes

I found this level mostly pretty fun for the little that I played of it, but I can agree that it needed checkpoints. I never got past the goomba racing part (though tbf I hadn't thought to try it the way raocow did it), but if I had, I don't think I could handle any more without a checkpoint.

Since you mentioned you've been considering LPing an IWBTG fangame for some time now apparently, would you mind sharing which ones you were considering playing? :O

The negative lives counter is amazing. Sadly, that's about it. The backtrack is perhaps the least necessary thing ever. Even people in the fangame community hate them. If this person is from there, I really want to call them out for just not understanding what fun is.
If Mario has taught me anything, it's that most things rely on whether there's something good in a nearby box.
Note: If something in the above post is done incorrectly, tell the poster as softly as possible, please.

OP now has levels names per episode of the LP. For easier time searching for specific levels.

Oh hey, this level looks really tough but totally fair, it even gives you a chance to learn each gimmick before attempting them

NOW IF ONLY THE LEVEL CREATOR COULD PUT IN SOME CHECKPOINTS
but why

Weird, I had similar experiences in the first and second room, but raocow seems to be having more issues with the second room.

can we go play some other level after room 2 and come back to this trainwreck later? like seriously i might just skip the rest of the videos for this level, it's not remotely fun to watch lol & i'm already tired of this level. it's bland as hell visually & the only challenge comes from everything being a marathon of precision platforming with zero checkpoints

how is this not in last place lol

Might have to life farm to get those lives positive again... or do you want to earn them back?

The second room not having a checkpoint is pretty rude. This level would be better with checkpoints.... but this feels like it belongs in a Kaizo level contest more than a collab contest. As is, it's a super postgame like gauntlet, and I'm not sure if that's good...
I am prone to almost everything... except spontaneous violence.

seconded. Wings of Vi became hard to watch as it went on, and this has already lost me.

I don't know about that. While I certainly agree that the level is bad, I don't actually think that the videos are bad. So far there has been no angrycow at all, and while it's true that there has been less commentary than usual it wasn't all angry silence either. I thought some of the quips about the music were pretty hilarious for example.

To me the videos up to now were actually enjoyable or at the very least not any less enjoyable than the usual videos

I don't think the level itself is bad, it's got really tight level design for one thing. Having four of them though is a bit verbose since you can express all you want to express with just one of those alone.
Platform hells in general seem inherently hard to lp. I think most of their success/humor comes off of the sheer shock factor of the level design, whether it be in the form of what the stage is expecting you to do, troll design, or sheer randomness factor. This level, while well designed, doesn't have any of these to be lp friendly, at the very least. The honesty/face-valueness of the design is working against it here.
But as long as he isn't angry or tired of it, I'm not finding myself angry or tired of it either.

These levels are so bad that they've ruined my cooking dinner with megaman video tonight! The creator willfully ignoring midpoints is what gets me the most. Just awful. If you're gonna copy SMB or IWBTG learn how they function before bothering, and submit a LEVEL not a GAME.

Yeah there absolutely did not need to be more than one of these, much less four :T

And I mean raocow seems to be fine but it just does not make for an interesting video. The entire gameplay segment of this video is like, a minute or so at most.
