Re: Obscure "Mega Man X" Game That Got An Obscure Sequel
So, is it me or does Crystal Snail look like he's yelling at X when he does his Crystal Hunter attack? As far as I see, his face looks like it suddenly got a huge mouth in profile at that moment.
Also, thank goodness Violen isn't prone to breaking out into long rants. X would probably shoot him before he got to the point.

Man, that looked very rough. Not only did he fail to make it to one of the X-Hunters in time (twice), he also got epically steam-rolled by LeechMagna Centipede. So glad that's over, though now I'm afraid they'll get away with their Zero scheme.

It's too bad the sequel stopped giving infinite lives.

Re: Obscure "Mega Man X" Game That Got An Obscure Sequel
Am I recalling right there are only limited chances to get the X-Hunters?
Re: Obscure "Mega Man X" Game That Got An Obscure Sequel
That's right. Basically, if you go to a stage one of the X-Hunters is in and neglect to fight them and win, you forfeit that Zero part permanently and have to take the B ending. Game over doesn't count against you, however, and it'll cause them to move to another stage like usual.

I'm hoping raocow opts to show off the optional bossfight.

It's not about a moth, but then the boss wasn't really about one either.

Today's video reminded me that HideofBeast's Morph Moth video is one of my favorite HoB videos of all time.

I made an interesting observation today: both Serges's head cannon shots and the spikes on his platform only deal one point of damage. The floor mines, however, do WAY more and are in your best interest to destroy and/or avoid. Huh.

Serges' attack looks a lot like something Remilia would do, at least if it were red instead of green.
I don't know about water, but I'm laying my rupees on the moth being weak to flames.

One X-Hunter down, two to go!
Overall, this is the episode we needed after the cluster that was Magna Leechipede. A boss that doesn't get complicated until he loses over half his health and some simple stage design make for an entertaining episode, the only complication being Serges.

Man, I never noticed all those recycled X1 enemies. Neat.
Also, Morph Moth has the best name out of all mavericks: Metamor Mothmeanos.

When Flame Stag gets the blue fire, he'll get a two-hit combo if he dashes into you. Punches you up and drives you down. It hurts a lot.

Well, Flame Stagma came and went. At least his weapon's quite cool and can do neat tricks once you get that charge upgrade.

Re: Obscure "Mega Man X" Game Where Updating The Thread Is Hard
So is Bubble Crab's stage the first stage in Mega Man/Mega Man X history where, to find a collectible, you absolutely *must* revisit the stage a second time after beating it - because you need the stage boss's weapon to obtain the collectible?
Or is there a secret way to obtain it (I don't even remember what "it" is - I think a heart tank) that doesn't require Bubble Crab's weapon, that I just never figured out as a kid?

Welp.
At least we got another nice, quick video out of it. Poor guy's AI just couldn't keep up with the tech spam X used.

Naturally it would be Agile raocow misses, and not Dude-who's-mostly-the-same-in-both-battles. Figures.

I think you're talking about that one Sub Tank. Yeah, you can get it without the Bubble Splash shield, but you weren't meant to. There's a little slope under that item that you can jump off of. If you're going downhill, X gets more height off his jump. To double this unintentional goodness, the programmers forgot to take out an ability where X can skip across the surface of the water. This is also in X3.
Here you go in video form.
