Well, that certainly happened. I was expecting the deaths to be against Sigma's final form rather than his silly original body. I forgot you had to repeat the text expositions with every single death. That sure is a drag.

X2's next, huh? Gotta' say, even though I think the original Megaman X is the better game, X2 has stuck with me as my favorite in the series for some reason that I'm gonna' attribute to the more liberal use of color and the soundfonts and sound effects being superior, creating a better game feel to me. My opinion has been slightly skewed recently by my newfound (well, oldfound now, I guess) appreciation for boss weapons in the Megaman series, where X2 clearly has an inferior set compared to X1, but it's still a fairly serviceable arsenal.

Well, that was an episode. For one thing, I got to see Velguader get in a good mauling on X. Most of the LPs I watched before usually went straight to putting him down with icy prejudice. Also, Wolfma sure lasted long.

Can't wait to see X defeat some more Mavericks tomorrow! Gotta make GBD proud, after all.

I always thought it odd that Sigma, in contrast to every other character in the game with a speaking part, doesn't get a character portrait. That, combined with the repetitive pattern and weird smirk his sprite permanently has, always made the first part of the battle seem a bit...rushed to me? I dunno. In a game with, as raocow pointed out, all these loving little touches, it seems strange for the final boss. Better than the final levels of Mega Man 3, though, I guess.

I always thought it odd that Sigma was voiced by Richard Nixon.

The first Mega Man game in a series has always felt like a demo to me, and never like a full game.

RIP Green Biker Dude. You shall be missed.

Also, that was a pretty short intro stage. Can't wait to see some more Mavericks fall!

raocow, if you walk left after destroying the sandstorm machine, there's a new bike there. You didn't have to kill yourself when you messed up to get a new bike.

Wasn't expecting him to go after the Ostrich first. Guess he wanted to try out that sweet Ride Chaser in the base?

I also always went for Wheel Gator first to get through the blocks raocow mentioned... but then I always went to Overdrive Ostrich second. I can't recall why. I assume there's something particularly useful behind those blocks; been so long since I've played the game I'd have to look up a guide to remember what.

I'm a Wire Sponge first kind of guy. Call me vanilla and old-fashioned, but his weapon is nice for alternate means of obtaining stuff (like the upgrade in Wheel Gator's stage, which I used to think required the boots).

First set: it's where the Zero part battle takes place.

Second set: it's a treasure cache that requires you to have Morph Moth's weapon and be able to charge it. It lets you fill your sub-tanks VERY quickly.

Third set: the leg capsule's location.

here's a fun fact about the X-Hunters (or Counter Hunters, as X isn't the only Maverick Hunter): there was going to be a fourth hunter that was cut due to space limitations. this fourth hunter was to be a discarded prototype by Dr. Wily based off stolen blueprints of X, that was discovered and finished by a mysterious man during his forming of the X-Hunters, given a female personality, named X-Kai, and was to be their leader.
Image

also cut due to the same space limitations was Violen's second form.

and that is the technical reason why there are only 3 parts of Zero to collect (Legs, Torso, and Head), which happens to fit in canon anyway because it's possible to get Zero's Buster (the fourth piece) in the previous game.

It's more about tapping the button to get that Heart Tank than anything. If you jam on it, you'll usually wind up just short unless you do it just right. Guess what? You did it just right.

I almost want to see you not save Zero unless it happens by random reverse chance since it would make things a little more fun that way, but we'll see how it goes!

I actually have little to say, other than pointing out that Dr. Light's hologram said radar optics, not options.

Oh, right, a curiosity: Are you going to go back and collect all the powerups before the third fortress stage?
