I greatly dislike Tim Schafer as a person.

This game, however, looks good so far.

Double Fine? More like Double Lame! Oh!

Yeah so I'm super leery about Double Fine and Psychonauts 2 after Broken "into two" Age and The Cave and other tedious bullshit, but, Psychonauts remains great, especially now the final stage has been toned down for the Steam version to reasonable and not blood-boiling levels of frustration.

Looking forward to raocow's reaction to all the mindscapes, especially

Black Velvetopia

Uh...Do I just sign here? What do you mean it should be obvious? There are people in this world...well...a whole lot of people that can't follow basic instructions!

Okay, dipping into the PlayStation realm (yes I know this is the Steam version). This'll be new territory for me, since I've had very little first hand exposure to Sony (Nintendo fan boy since the N64).

So far, I'M IMPRESSED. I already want to play this game! Poor raocow, his bunk mate is the sex-crazed kid. Real shame that kind of stuff happens in real life.

So, went to raocow's YouTube today and was like "That's funny, I thought I clicked over, why am I on the main page?" When I realized it wasn't a thumbnail for some other LPer and that he's the one playing Psychonauts I caught the hype. I can't wait guys! This is like, a top 10 game for me! Eeeeeeeee! :D

Oh you are kidding me. raocow is playing Psychonauts? Hah. I literally just finished with my first time through this game not two weeks ago. It is indeed an awesome game, and... wow, I think I'll actually *watch* this particular LP for a change! :P

I really need to get around to actually playing this eventually. Everyone always seems to sing its praise and such but I've never actually learned much about the game itself. I did get it in a Humble Bundle or something at some point though and never got around to installing it.

I played this back on the PS2. And yet somehow stopped playing about, I guess, maybe halfway through? I have zero recollection as to why. I don't remember getting frustrated or even really losing interest. Perhaps I ought to pick up the Steam version now and finish what I started.

I tried playing the game on Steam a few months ago, but it didn't click for me. The story, atmosphere, dialogue, humour, and characters are top-notch as you'd expect from Tim Schafer, but the gameplay is a little clunky. This is a game I'll have more fun watching raocow play than playing it myself.

Not actually sure how common psychic powers are on that universe. Having so many in one place can be thanks to being on the camp for psychonauts. It was also mentioned they were kind of outcast sometimes, though there are still a lot of kids on that camp. Also it's been a while since I've seen a blind playtrough of this game, and there are a lot of things I'm looking forward to.

"I regret everything."

Best line? Or Best Line?

I played this, oh...10, 11 years ago? I loved it for its exploration. Though the dialogue makes me cringe now, especially when it gets all dramatic. But the jokes still feel solid.

Eh, also not at fan. All the flavor and fluff is great, but the gameplay and level design... not so much.

It's a collectathon where actually going for 100% will make you want to kill yourself. And there's also a glitch that prevents 100% apparently?

Oh boy, looking forward to seeing cowrao's take on this game.

Yeah, on rare occasions the game removes a specific tool from your inventory and you'll need to buy it again from the shop. But if you're past a certain late-game point your only options are to reload an old save or use a cheat (which may or may not disable achievements).

EDIT: My mistake, it seems you can't buy it again. Be sure to keep backup saves, cowrao!

I never had *that* happen... but I *did* have an instance where the game froze while I was saving, freezing my entire computer, with the save and entire profile completely dead after a hard reboot.

So, note to raocow... if the game starts to noticeably lag... don't save! You might lose some progress if you're forced to close the game, but it beats losing your entire save.

huh my post didnt go through yesterday.

Great game, but man is that ps2 era age showing in the gameplay and graphics. On the plus side, when you make characters intentionally ugly looking, the graphics being outdated can only improve it.
