MaGL 3 results: moral of the story: laziness always prevails

this is the place where lps are being talked about. it's important to talk about games being played on the internet.

Sturg: don't bully the Lunar Magic :(
Maybe you struggled cause you overwhelmed yourself with something complicated when you don't have that much experience? And surprisingly it worked out for the most part lol. The weird goal post flippers are ultimately the only major problem in your level.

Also I disagree with everyone complaining about the floating water in yoshi's level. If it had lines on the side it would look more cluttered imo. Also they work as line guides sometimes so having it done that way opened more design possibilities.
To expand on my dumb short comment for this level I think more could've been done with the elements you had, but you're known for keeping it simple. Overall this was a good ol' solid lolyossy level

Sturg, honestly, I would say that's impressive for someone who I believe only did "The Dumbest Cavern" before in Super Mario World (correct me if I'm wrong).

You did try to use advanced tools, sure, you struggled a lot, but at the same time, for your second level, this is really, really, really good.

On sidenote, if you want to make a small Bowser's castle room for JUMP 1/2, you are definitely welcome :). I'm pretty sure it would take less time than this huge complex level.

sturg's level probably could've just used a second midpoint somewhere and it would've been fine, i really like the concepts but the length of the obstacles combined with the lack of powerups makes it look pretty frustrating to play. just like a midpoint somewhere in the whoa zone would've fixed that problem imo
i've honestly never played a video game in my life

Am I the only one who doesn't think that DIARY OF ANNE FRANK deserved the placement it got? Not trying to knock on lolyoshi or anything, but the level just felt like a romp with simple gimmick and no real atmosphere to it.

Sturg level was amazing though. The fact that he used the Woah Zone made me way happier than I should have been.

A romp with no floor is probably the best kind of romp there is

At that point, what does a romp even mean.

It just felt like an athletic edit, with no real changes done to aesthetics of the level.

My only issue with lolyoshi's level was that it looked too ugly/youtube level-esque. I have to admit though, it kinda worked though, in a VIP sense.

I dunno. I always took it to mean "Open and jumpy" which I never felt was a bad thing but apparently everyone has their own definition.

actually download lolyoshi's level and play it. You'll probably beat it first try (raocow did. You can too!), and then you'll feel really good. That's why it ranked high.

Aesthetics are only out of 10 points on the judge's scoring rubric, so pure athleticism doesn't seem like an unreasonable thing to strive for

That was basically Moltov Mario World's ideal level, wasn't it?

But hey, nice trick there. Always love it when people take an existing level and then suddenly have it changed into something more unique instead.

This is an awesome and hilarious level, but the difficulty does spike up pretty suddenly and jarringly in the Angry Moon section. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of that Angry Sun sprite due to its weird interaction with screen-scrolling; it makes the sun sort of unintentionally double-back midway through its lunge in a manner that feels super awkward and wonky. I'd have also said that the last real section seemed pretty trivial despite the dire warning, but I guess it was specifically designed as a trap for raocows or something.

Also, take a look at the Angry Moon's graphics. Notice those two black pixels on the top, tapered part? I seriously thought that this level was going to have a shocking twist ending wherein it would be revealed that the Angry Moon had secretly been a banana the whole. I mean, it certainly would fit with the author's sense of humor.

I'm sure this is probably relevant.
