Paragraph wrote: Kind of like my complaint about the two HARD routes in 4 shells only taking you back to the start again...that's just MEAN. Like, a big fuck you from the game. Definitely don't like that one :(.
Well those paths actually were meant to be punishments for not figuring out the puzzle. Haimari marked the right path in the first section with that green shell sitting in its little box, so that one is pretty much the players fault. I thought that puzzle was pretty good actually.

Not defending today's level in any way but I do kinda like that it unlocked nothing. It would be pretty dickish to throw a level like this in the middle of your path, but since it's an optional level in an optional world, we can look at it like an extra challenge to get all 86 exits. A level purely for completionists and crazy people. And while the boo cloud room is entirely optional, the first room does give us the green switch, so there it's not like there's absolutely no reward besides finding all exits.

That said, the whole level feels like your trying to swim through molasses, and leaves you physically exhausted even though you never left your chair. It's not the kind of level you want to be playing for an hour.

Watch a japanese lp of kaizo and it will be without tools.

In fact, one day Proton Jon's kaizo video where uploaded to niconico, and the users just keep making fun of him in the scrolling commentaries about using savestates.

I see.
Maybe your right. Since only elementary kids play on easy mode.
Guess japanese players are just much more hardcore.

btw. the only raocow-video on nico was cat planet !
Kind of dissappointing, im not gonna lie.

You've done well with todays levels.
Im kind of sad, that everything will go downhill for a while after tommorows video ~ in terms of difficulty i mean.

Oh man raocow singing along with the earthbound music in the green switch. Too bad it only lasted shortly. :(

Again, your weakness has shown again raocow: Lack of observation. You were making that one falling Charlie way harder than it should be. All you had to do was hang around near the lower half of the screen, near the muncher.

Hey raocow, I noticed your audio desync today and thought that you might find this program useful: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8KE562BQ It's called AVI Frame Rate Adjust and I've been using it for my own videos recently. I used the tutorial here to figure out how to use it and it turned out to be pretty easy. It only takes a moment or two before you start editing the clip so it won't add much time to your editing process.

Just something I thought I'd mention.

I loved how the background showed your upward progress, too.

It's those little details :>.

Although this hack has its moments, it is overall not a good hack, and levels such as Cloud Tunelling are ultimate proof of this. Still, raocow somehow manages to make this interesting to watch.

Also - hey raocow, where's the B-side?

Funny how raocow finds vertical scrolling so incredibly awesome, even though there's a sprite in SMWCentral that does the same thing. Only problem with both of these is that they must be placed above the first screen.
Knowledge is a gift, and it's the only gift I'm not giving! :ugeek:

The only version still on SMWC works just fine when placed on the first screen of the level.

Depends on what you're looking for in a hack really. Anyway, If you disliked World 4, you should really enjoy raocow's videos for the next world. It replaces the Kaizoish World 4 with fun.

I could use some help in the World 5 castle. I've spent about an hour wandering around with no idea on what to do.
I'm in the second half of the castle and I found the window that you can go through leading to the key. I can get the key, but I have to hit a switch in order to reach the locked door. I can't find the switch anywhere. I'm wondering if I missed it somewhere near the midpoint, before you go inside the castle.

Speaking of nico, would anyone be up for uploading raocow videos to nico?

Obvious choices:
-cat planet cat planet! (I searched and I could only find cat planet x raocow mads, please inform me if I missed it)
-raocow vs the black plague
-ASMT maybe? if not the whole thing then just king charles' castle and trial of iron because those had cool parts

The switch is in the segment with the coins and the floor just below the screen, and is completely invisible. It is located exactly below the first falling spike.

people are only looking for cat planet when it is mixed with red zone; raocow used save states for smi2 which people might find ludicrous; asmt might be good though as it is a show of the asm in the hack as well as raocow's sans-state play (except when fighting King Charles but eh)

yeah, people, the smi2 video isonly funny because of the context, and forget about uploading anything in which I made heavy use of savestates.

If you're thinking of any one particular video, I think ASMT's The Munchy Plant Ruins would be one of the best bets. Japan would probably get a kick out of that level whether or not they can understand raocow. I may upload that actually. Probably not. But maybe. Regardless I don't think it will get too many views unless some random source of luck blows its way.

Wow. Just ... wow.

Thanks for the help. I don't think I ever would have figured it out.
