Thank you for LPing this game! It's been a fun romp, and seeing this game with fresh eyes has been an interesting insight into the ways this game is rough around the edges. When I was young, I wasn't knowledgeable enough about games to see how gimmicky it can be, or how disjointed the endgame feels. That said, I still think it's a cute and charming game that's worth the time, even if it's not perfect.

That Chrono Trigger boxart actually has a reason for existing. It's based off of a beta screenshot. I've seen this IRL in a gaming magazine, but I forget which magazine it was published in.

I got curious too, so I searched for the fight on youtube and got this video where it's the finishing blow:

This video also shows off what happens if you toss the the mech into the air.

It's kinda amazing how everything in this game explodes *except* the final boss, which is... more like a bonus boss than anything, what with the Emperor fight being where it is. It really feels like the whole of Act 5 was a last minute rush that was put together in the wrong order with a bunch of missing chunks! But nonetheless it's still a good game overall, just kind of a let-down towards the end.

Ahh, so it's just like grabbing the stomping foot. Alright then.

I know this was a few videos ago, but did anyone think of the Expresso the Ostrich from DKC?

His name is Useless McBird, and I avoid thinking about him whenever possible.
