I'm super tempted to accept the offer, but I think I should wait for v1.71! I tweeted out that you are looking for 16x16 graphics made, and nathanisbored retweeted (he has a lot more followers), so hopefully someone will be able to help with finishing the treasure chests!

I have had very little free time to record these past two weeks - here's a video I recorded nearly a week ago. I didn't want to release the video with the level unfinished, but the options were to upload it tonight or wait until next Thursday. Dancing with Shells by Jesuiscontent:
Ep16a - Shell Shock and Rising Tides

I got quite close to the end of the level, so I hope to finish it in the next recording session! I'll be uploading more regularly again after November 12th :)

That was a very

satisfying

video to watch :^)

Haha, I forgot I was that much of a dick with powerups. My philosophy was always to make the player "work" for the powerups, so that they can use them to get past a part they have trouble with later, but I might have got a bit overboard there... And I never really made levels that were supposed to be beaten in one go, either... sorry nyoro~n
I remember a couple people playtested this level as well, but I don't think anyone noticed that one misleading coin trail, where you're supposed to jump after the shell rebounds off the block. I do believe the little playtesting this game had didn't aim to make first playthroughs of levels easier

Also, it was actually tested on gamepad ! I hate playing platformers on keyboard. I understand you may have trouble with not-jumping out of the water if you're using a control stick instead of a D-pad though.

Hey Mr. Content! Thank you for watching the video - I do like your level, but I was a bit unprepared for the difficulty spike, haha! I should have had the entire level beaten in just the one video, but I've been very very short on recording time lately. The first half has to be redone to get the chest (I'm assuming it's accessed using the vine below the blue koopa) and the parrot coin. Those shell kickers are really well placed :D

Sorry for the comment that the level was tested on keyboard - I suspected that wasn't the case, and was thinking of cutting that bit out - it was only said out of frustration at the time! And working for power-ups is something that should totally be expected in difficult levels. You don't even have to work that hard for the power-ups in your level. I'm just very clumsy and would make critical mistakes more often than not!

I think the next time I can record is Sunday 13th, so look forward to the conclusion!

Nice ! You did pretty good, and good job on keeping to the left path every time, I made it so it was the hardest one. The idea of the 2nd half was to make it so you're rewarded if you keep ahead of the current (which is why there's a lot of enemies you can bounce on to go faster), hence the whole "3-path" thing, and penalized if you don't, like that one green koopa under the saws, but in retrospect that one definitely was overkill as it seems it just isn't possible to get past without getting hurt if you're late...

Also, I'm sorry but I burst out laughing when you entered the chest room and exited immediately, hahaha

About the chest contents, I think at some point I wanted to do something fitting like a shield or a helmet made out of a koopa shell but forgot about it when I realized I had to make a sprite for it, lol.

Thanks for play

Thanks for make!! I rewatched raocow's episode with your level afterwards, he noticed that the furthest path was the easiest immediately. I felt more comfortable with the saws, though. Great level, it was fun!

And now for something short!
Ep17 - Demo, Danger and Saws

After this episode was done, I had enough time to record

Arial Athletics

, so look forward to that on Friday!

After testing I can report that I have not run into the Demo's Hydrophobia bug that your experiencing. It must be an emulator thing. My music doesn't disappear or bug up after replicating your issue.

Almost definitely an emulator thing - I'm sure I've heard of music working in one emulator and not another.
Here's the video with the bug in it:
Ep21 - ASMT and the Haunted Cartridge

I'm going to expand upon what I said in the comments. I'd heavily recommend you switch to zsnes. Even back in 2010 this game was created from the base up using zsnes so issues like this are bound to occur. I can't guarantee something worse won't happen in the future. There's no way I'm going to be able to make it compatible with snes9x so in order for the LP to move smoothly i'd recommend switching. It'll also help me identify what's more of an actual bug and what's an issue with the emulator that's trying to play it. :)

It can't be helped...voting for Undermoore Passage. XD Also I can't wait til you have overworld arrows because the Gelatin Factory opened 2 path's not just 1 XD But please ignore that level Punctuated Time for now until the new patch drops :)

I'm glad Into The Sky Castle was able to drain raocow, while the final level was more uplifting for him. It's funny watching both of his moods sometimes with regard to anger and happiness.

PS: when's into the Sky castle coming up?

I'm not sure actually! The levels I play are voted on each time, so there's no particular order. Next video will be 'Something to do with Layer 2' by Septentrion Pleiades (which will be late, due to a Snes9x-related issue - the midpoint isn't working!). It's been so long since I've seen raocow's playthrough that I can't remember if Into The Sky Castle is midgame or endgame! Is that one of the last levels?

He's kinda close to being there if he takes a particular route he could be there in 2 to 3 videos potentially. Also I couldn't use the final level music unfortunately since I inserted the level into the main game. We fixed your 2nd midpoint to and named the final level

"Trials of the Parrot"

Whaaaaa?????

But that's a huge part of the level. Without the right music the level is broken in my eyes. What music does it have, also still confused why you couldn't use the music it had. Couldn't export the music file or ask me or Wyatt for the file? I'm confused.

Many reasons but I'ma list off a few: Would need EVERY single text song file for this game, Would need the version of AddMusic this game used which no longer exists, And finally the music for this game is a nightmare in it of itself and would destroy the game if we even remotely messed with it. I had no choice but to replace the song with something that was already inserted and I went with the closest thing i could find which is "sewage castle" theme I tried my best. It's one of the consequences of this game being 6 years old and not being done until now, there are some things over time that just can't be reclaimed or fixed due to outdated programs and stuff. Me and Mario90 have been working super hard and we both decided that nothing music related is changing in A2MT what's there is there and it's what we're going with. :)
