Everyone seems to like to call the main character Rex even though they could be either Rexford or Rexanna. I guess it is easier to write.

I think he has such a preference to platforming, that he always defers to that style of play even when the area's actual intent is "you're supposed to fight 'em out here." The area literally has to have no apparent platforming elements for him to really get into combat mode.

so, the next boss will absolutely not take up a whole video, and afterwards you're basically gonna be staring the final boss straight in the face

so i suggest

going to the spot to the right of where the commando bot was that you passed up before and doing the thing there that you can do

I don't know if I'm gonna clear beyond what I find naturally, honestly.

like I appreciate the map there, but I have no idea amongst that what I got or didn't. And the game is fun, but not as much if I'm going to be rethreading stuff.

raocow: The Rocket Launcher gives you a quadruple jump..

Point it down and fire. It boosts you up just like your charge shot.

THIS is why I suggested you wait to tackle this area until after beating the Crusher Bot.

There's an info node explaining this in the upper left corner of the room after the Crusher Bot.

I'm slowly starting to look forward to the next game already, as I have no idea what It'll be. I think this game has been fun too though.

That section is a marathon because it HAS to be a marathon, basically. If you got through say, the first two rooms, but then decided that the third was way too much for you, you'd be screwed because of checkpoints. It's bad game design either option chosen.

Well, they could have put Hypertubes between each room, or put escape shafts for you to fall down out of if you want to escape, perhaps involving a switch and barrier so that you can later climb up the escape shaft to resume the challenge if you've previously escaped midway through. So I'm gonna have to disagree and say it's a marathon because they willingly decided to make it a marathon.

Edit: I suppose if they didn't want to spend any extra rooms on it, then they could've put a shaft up to the top in the side of the first room and a hallway above the top of the second room that unlock with a switch at the end of the room.

Actually, I think they intended for it to be a marathon like that.

EDIT: Also, I think I found the grenade Launcher easier than the other one, though it may be tainted by the fact I tried to do it before getting the jetpack. For those who want to see it:

raocow i know you could totally go fight the final boss right now but you should really at least do the one other thing everyone has been yelling at you to do for a week

also i like this game quite a bit and i still hate the grenade launcher path with all my being, as it 's just awful. like you said, the second room is just way too long and stressful, the first room and third room are cool except you have to do the first a hundred times and you have to do the second after the third and it's just pretty much garbage.
